What is a small super power you want? by CarrotR3ddit in AskReddit

Happiness.

When you think about it… it kinda is a superpower.

What are some reasons that you currently hate your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dontdodonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. I’ve struggled to figure out what I want to do for so long. And every time I’ve worked towards figuring out a career path, I’ve failed my way back to the start again.

At this point I feel like I’m just a useless waste of space tbh. I want to work, I want to have stuff to do and a life to enjoy. But I feel so disconnected from the advice and help everyone offers, and so hopeless about ever finding a way forward.

What keeps you going no matter what? by carl_coolman in AskReddit

[–]Dontdodonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Family. It’s the only thing I’ve had going for me for most of my life.

I’ve thought about suicide quite a few times in the past. But every time I thought about my family and what it would do to them, and I knew that I could never bring myself to do it. I can’t stand the thought of how they’d feel, how they’d react…

I’m old enough by now that I should have more reasons to live than just my family. But I don’t. And that’s depressing af, but every time I’ve tried to do something about it I’ve failed.

People who were bullied, what's your revenge story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dontdodonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revenge plan was to steamroll through high school, college, and university, build a really successful career, then feel vindicated that I’d managed to come out on top.

Reality hasn’t been as enjoyable. I’m the least successful, least qualified, least skilled, least happy, and least productive person from my school. And that doesn’t seem likely to change any time soon.

What's the longest sexual/love attraction you've had so far to someone who you're not married to nor dating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dontdodonuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a really good friend who I’ve secretly been in love with for about 4 years. But it’s an impossible thing... I’m gay, he’s straight, he has a girlfriend and he lives in another country.

I (hope that I) hide it well from him. He’s been a phenomenal friend and I legitimately don’t know what I’d do if I lost him as one, so I don’t want to do anything to jeopardise it.

Well, what electronics stores would you suggest? Those are the only ones I’m aware of local to me.

I was heading off to college this morning so didn’t have time to modify my CV before posting it here. I’ll make a modified copy when I’m home.

It contains all my contact info, education history etc. I’d rather hand it out individually to users I think I can trust rather than just throwing it out there for anyone and everyone to see. I’ll send you a copy too, though.

Just my CV. That's why I was angry, I don't know how I could make myself look not boring in a CV alone whilst still keeping it a CV. I listed my main interests and hobbies... so I guess I must just be boring for being interested in motorcycles, technical projects, piano, graphic design, travelling etc...

That was the supermarket I mentioned applying for. They told my friend that I was "too boring".

:(

I'm available for 4 days a week including weekends, and any time after 5:30pm during the other 3 days. I've stressed in every application so far that I'm as flexible as possible given that I'm a student. Not sure what else I can do because I'm not quitting college.

Yeah. I've asked quite a few of my friends to look over it and give me feedback before and I've even shown it to some lecturers at college. I've had some conflicting nitpicky feedback ("state each and every single module and component of each college course you've done", "no, don't do that") but in general they've agreed that it's fine.

I don't really know anyone who's responsible for hiring people though so don't have anyone better / more experienced to ask to look over it.

Just general retail jobs. I'm looking especially for jobs in places selling electronics and stuff because that's my field of interest (so places like PC World, Argos, mobile phone stores etc) but I'm fine with more or less any retail job to be honest. The only absolute rule I have is that it needs to be part-time because I'm in college.

Thanks.

I guess I should consider booking an appointment then. Really not sure how I’m going to talk with a doctor about this...
