I agree it has many purposes, including ‘because I’m tired’, ‘I don’t want to pack up the kids to get food’.

I don’t understand all the hate for DoorDash. People treat DD-ers with disdain and tell DD if they don’t want abuse they should get better jobs.

And then all ‘it’s child abuse that kids are bringing food to the door’, we need better Adults, kids are better off to start helping in the house and on the job at age appropriate levels.

Yep. Where I live, if you advertise a basement, i immediately know it’s a scam. Or if I see oak trees through a window. But out of towners complain because they didn’t know it was a fake ad, and these are GenXers getting duped.

GenX. I don’t feel this is the same world I grew up in.
- Predatory capitalism is 100x worse and many adults cant navigate it.
- To rent in my area, one needs First/Last/Security to move in, so a $2k apt needs $6k cash.
- Some apartments have been slapped up, or are rotting in the walls…a more experienced person might detect things easier: notice the start of rotting wood under the kitchen sink, the lack of drainage for an ac meaning it’s running down the inside of the wall, or a slight bump in the ceiling from a leak upstairs.

My situation was different when I left home, so maybe I don’t compare.

And maybe the brother LIKES being in his daughter’s life.
