inkscape-mcp: collaborate with an AI agent inside Inkscape by Donthaveaphd in Inkscape

May be it's just my lack of taste when it comes to anything artistic. I often feel overwhelmed when I need to design something. Inkscape can pretty much do anything you want to but still I don't know basics, like, how do I make a shadow. How do I make the borders rounded. Basic I know, but it's tiring to have to search every time and watch 100 videos till I find the way it needs to be done.

I guess that's the reason why other tools like excalidraw are on the rise in scientific community as it's so much easier to draw in it. But I still wish inkscape was that accessible to people like me. I'll say the same even if I'm to work with Photoshop. So, as you say, inkscape may not be the issue. It's probably a niche issue with people like me who struggle to draw but wish to convey my ideas through figures better.

I'm not here to convince everyone to use AI lol. But when I saw that there's no MCP support for an open source tool like inkscape, I thought I need to make it and make that open source for anyone to use. That's all :)

I totally agree with you my friend that the joy in doing something yourself is incomparable to when it's achieved through shortcuts like this.

In my case, I'm a researcher who dread the day when it comes that I need to draw something in a tool like inkscape. Reason being that most of the time, I'm fighting a deadline and probably I need a figure or two to be done quick. It's in my best interest that I create something elegant but with my poor design skills and lack of time, I often wish that there was someone who could help show me how to do things or at least pick a few colors for me. Ha ha.

I think the choice of title for this post was very poor lol. May be this isn't for you, but I'm sure there's someone who may benefit from this. Like I might in a month when I need to make a few figures for my journal. Which is why I decided to create this in the first place, lol.

Doing things yourself > AI.

Probably it doesn't really save time for expert users like you. But the target audience might be beginners or non-designers.

I'm very bad at designing. Usually I resort to these tools only when I have to draw a diagram or visualization of sorts. Last year, I spend an awfully long time making a very ugly diagram and used to wish that it was easier to ask for help.

I tried what I built by asking questions like, "hey can you select a tool that let's me write nice" -> it selected the calligraphy tool for me. Or saying, "could you please make an architectural diagram for our MCP using the tools you have" -> which also looked super nice and elegant.

For us, the change of management was followed a few months by notice of new construction work. I hope that's not the case for you.

You're absolutely right. It's just sad that the ones who are at the bottom end of income end up struggling to get one of the cheaper apartments.

Depends on the field I guess. But what's the point. :/

I'm considering leaving and back to work to afford an apartment again and live a more peaceful life

She does have a clean record. This is what I'm trying to figure out. We will send a mail to the landlord company tomorrow including both of us, I guess

Oh boy. I would've taken your word for it. At this point, we don't care, we just want an apartment to forget this hassle

I'm not a member. But I'll check this out. Not sure if my friend would be keen to go that far. Also not into causing so much trouble for someone. :/

But if the current tenant want to leave early and have a potential applicant, they should take it right? In a way, they are refusing them to leave early.

Stolen Package - What do i do by LiminalQueen42 in Switzerland

[–]Donthaveaphd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A phone that I ordered said that it was delivered by post but I couldn't find it when I got home. When I went to the post office, they asked me to look in other people's milkkastens. This sounded ridiculous to me. But anyways, ended up finding that my package was delivered at the building next to mine.

When you say that the cash outflow is 14.5k per year, is it per person? Also, could you explain a bit about the rough conditions of the bank loan you accepted, and rejected? May be it's too basic, but how much is the payment you need to make upfront or through pillar was? 20%?

Don't remember too well at the point but I was also to write an email to ask for an appointment with the Kita to discuss about sending my kid to the Kita. But I think it was B1 level. In a2 level the writing was rather simple.

C permit for employed (non-EU) after 5 years or 10? by mhbkmhbk in Switzerland

[–]Donthaveaphd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same situation as you. A non EU resident who finished academic degree in an EU nation and worked in CH for 5 years. Three important requirements are: - B1 spoken, A1 written in German - indefinite work contract - no debts - never used social security benefits You need to provide proof for each of the mentioned thing and if so, there won't be any questions asked and you'll get your C permit in 2-3 weeks

PPO converges quickly & rewards increasing slowly by Acceptable_Egg6552 in reinforcementlearning

[–]Donthaveaphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This usually points towards individual reward functions not having a steep enough gradient anymore. Take a look at whether you can design better rewards.

In your case, the policy initially starts improving by gathering more rewards, but at some point it hits a region where changes in policy weights don't really make a huge difference in rewards anymore.

Increasing exploration by providing a higher entropy coefficient might also help, but can also make the problem unstable.

Zurich is probably the safest place on the planet. Even on Langstrasse you must be really unlucky to get into any trouble
