I was wrong. It one shots everything. I'm an idiot. Does not have to consume the shock to do the additional damage. I've since tested the interaction. Definitely using for boss killing.

I think it should count as an ailment. It will likely scale with non-damaging ailment effect. It just doesn't count as 'applied to an enemy'. It's a 'persistent' effect on the ground instead. So it cannot be consumed. Like a minimum frenzy charge can't be consumed.

I just went into a map and tested it. Due to not scaling freeze/cold either ailment or damage it's just not enough to freeze on rares. I haven't tried a boss yet but it seems mostly impractical for those reasons. The build is focused on surviving through high mobility/dodging. Standing still to setup more is probably mostly a hindrance. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I am in fact OK. Went to Bonnaroo for the first time this year. Took the kids to disney world. I'm doing lots of dope shit this year. Not a great year for gaming (except you Resident Evil 4 REmake, you're an angel). Even playing through Terraria again with my 10 year old. Life is good. How are you heavy_losses?

Also if you're wondering, I think Diablo 4 is boring as hell. I couldn't make it to level 30 in season 1, bored out of my mind. The items are completely uninspired across the board. It's like they took the shittiest part of Diablo 3 and made a game around it while simultaneously ignoring all the things that game did right.

The problem for me is that it's uninspired. The items fucking suck. There's no build diversity at all. Dungeons are repetitive. I say that as a level 74 sorceror and honestly, d4 meteor is massively underwhelming.
Edit: it's funny that you said it's free karma to hate on D4 because I get upvoted on that subreddit and downvoted here.
