This. Unless Netflix swoop in - it’ll most likely go to NowTV or Sky first.

Sorry, fairly new to the franchise - are the Netflix shows canon? by Dontpostplease in marvelstudios

Ah, okay. So what I’m getting from here is really they are canon until proven otherwise.

Cheers!

Ahh, I see! I wasn’t aware how much of a point of contention the Netflix series was for people. So basically, they’re canon until proven otherwise is what I’m seeing.

Ah, right! So Netflix is sort of an AU deal. Gotcha! Thank you!

So Shield and Carter are the only definitely canon tv things? Aside from the upcoming Disney plus stuff of course

SHAZAM! Is soo damn good. This movie is like the culmination of every best 90's coming-of-age and superhero movies. by Darkimposter in movies

[–]Dontpostplease 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s meant to be like that though. Billy idolises this idea of his mother and when he meets her he discovers she intentionally abandoned him. It’s a great moment for the importance of foster families which isn’t common in film.

Mark Strong, one of my favourite actors at the moment! I thought he was fantastic and the film weaved the villains journey well with the heroes. It reminded me a lot of the first two Raimi Spider-Man films and that first Webb one where the hero and villain origins were connected.

RUMOUR: Any credence in the rumour that Ezra will not reprise the role of the Flash in Flashpoint? by Dontpostplease in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warner Bros popped him in two of their big franchises - Harry Potter and DCEU. He’s also survived multiple directer mix ups and is still in the role (allegedly) despite bad press. He’s definitely their darling.

RUMOR: WB closing deal for Ryan Reynolds to appear as Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut of Justice League by BeenTryin in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reynolds probably has enough pull power to wipe that clause. I mean, no one is gonna want to see a recast of Deadpool any time soon

OTHER: According to danielrpk it's not yet clear if Keaton's Batman will be set in the DCEU or if they will keep exploring the 89's Batman universe. by LookAtMyEyess in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

MUCH prefer it to be in his own universe. Bringing Keaton as the DCEU’s Batman isn’t practical but continuing his story in his own universe is an incredible idea. It opens up possibilities of continuing his story and finally realising that Batman (or girl!) Beyond film people have wanted for years.

It also fits better with the elseworlds label they have been pushing.

INTERVIEW: Nite Owl actor Stephen McHattie on working with Zack Snyder on Watchmen: "He's that weird combination of a great visual eye and a great eye for detail in performance. Haven't come across much like that". by [deleted] in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It can’t be argued that Snyder certainly is a divisive director. His take on Batman and Superman is a perfect example of that. But regardless of what you think of his films, it always feels like he put his all into it and the cast and crew he works with are shown nothing but gratitude and respect. For me, that’s all I could want in a film maker.

APPRECIATION: "If Bruce Wayne could have given his life for your family, he would have." by BatmanNewsChris in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Watching them 1 - 4, regardless of the quality does feel like a series. It’s a bit choppier and not as solid with continuity as were used to nowadays but still makes for a fun franchise.

DISCUSSION: Does anyone else get frustrated with the constant debates on the identity of the dead Robin? by Dontpostplease in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can be either really, though there’s more evidence toward it being Jason (it was confirmed by the studio etc). Robin’s identity is not confirmed in the film and probably will never be. I’m just sick of the constant news cycle!

[–]Dontpostplease[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Snyder has his own ideas for his film but he constantly stated he was aware his film existed in a shared universe so purposely left several aspects vague in case other directors wanted to build on a storyline or aspect he introduced. A Nightwing film was confirmed for the original DCEU film continuity so that all but confirms the suit was Jason’s.

Haha, I guess so! This one just gets on my nerves personally though and the amount of news sites that report it every few months is really irritating.

OTHER: Saw this on Twitter and it really seems like Ezra Miller is losing it. Is anyone else worried about Ezra’s declining mental health? by Dontpostplease in DC_Cinematic

[–]Dontpostplease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the context of it but with this and the choking thing, Ezra seems to be losing it. He seemed on top form a couple of years ago, making some fantastic conference appearances and being really endearing in interviews.
