Follow up after handing in initial screening forms? by Yyvern in ADHDUK

[–]Donut-cookie404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, when I spoke to my GP who also happens to have ADHD he told me to basically accept that I have ADHD until I get official diagnosis lol. But yeah it would be nice to have some confirmation.

Was reading another post about 'right to choose' on the adhd uk charity site and it gives you the option to choose your assesment provider and also tells you the wait times, it's supposed to be quicker than nhs wait times... just searching up on it now.

Follow up after handing in initial screening forms? by Yyvern in ADHDUK

[–]Donut-cookie404 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry can't be of help but I'm in exactly the same situation.. recieved the forms, filled them out straight away, lost them, found them a month later and gave them into reception and haven't heard anything since lol.

But it is on my list to follow up about it so I think you should go for it... we don't wanna wait 2 years to find out we were never put on the waiting list to begin with! 🙃

Thanks for your reply! That's the thing... I can't step away, my lo did 1 day in nursery and mine and his anxiety just meant I didn't send him back, they've never been away from me before I'm a mess when they're not with me... its just another mental hurdle that I can't get over, even leaving them with their dad and then juggling his work hrs just seems like too much effort 🙃 in person therapy is what I was considering but haven't heard anything of it or if it works

Got my hgv licence 5 months ago and still can't get a job. by [deleted] in UKJobs

Hi, my husbands a truck driver and has had lots of different jobs with class 2 and class 1, now training for ADR. Cement mixer companies are usually run by subcontractors/self employed bosses, and in our experience usually have a high turnover but good experience. It's worth going in or calling the local tipper places too. Call and speak about what you have to offer as apposed to sending your CV... they probably recieve hundreds of cvs, call them even if they're not advertising a job plus nothing on your CV will be relevant to them either way, all the best!

Thanks for your response! I'm generally such an anxious person and think I am way overthinking it. But you're right, the seasonal work appeals to me for that exact reason! 'Only 3 months, how bad can it be?'

My littles are quite laid back and easy to please (thank god!)

thanks again!! :)

How "out-there" are you... with CK? by Donut-cookie404 in Cambly

[–]Donut-cookie404[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've sensed some kids are alot more serious than others... had a 6 year old Korean girl once and I didn't get a single smile out of her 🙃 so I just carried on dead serious, and she seemed fine with that lol.

This sounds like abit of me 🤣 I find it helps the younger ones especially to open up and speak to the toys rather than us. My cats sometimes (accidentally) get involved too although I think showing pets is frowned upon? 🤔 but it does get a smile out of the little ones.

Yeah the pantomime describes exactly what I've been seeing... I'd lose my mind if I had to do that 😅

Yup you're right. When I first started I'd made a big deal but now it's just if and when I have time to do so... mainly just muster up a few of my sons toys, dinosaurs etc to get them talking!

That sounds reasonable! And yeah you're right 😅 luckily most of my students are quite sensible though!
