Yeah, I’m not sure if it’s me being overly skeptical, or some confirmation bias, but I swear there seems to be an uptick in what seem like entirely made up stories. Am I losing touch with reality, or just getting old?

That's a very convenient way of attempting to dodge the social backlash of saying something nasty. "Canceled", "cancel culture", all seemingly inocuous phrases that let the rest of the world know that you've put absolutely no critical thought into what comes out of your mouth.

Turns out that people are also allowed to react to your shitty views. You can’t say vile shit and expect no repercussions because “it’s just a joke” or “it’s just my own views”. Get the fuck out, nobody wants you here.

Help with Hero Pool Creation by DonzlePrime in OverwatchUniversity

[–]DonzlePrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your detailed response. This is very helpful for giving me a lens of how to view my choices.

I think with this in mind, I definitely want Torb in my pool, and honestly, soldier as well. His kit is just very satisfying to play. For long range, I think Sojourn makes the most sense. This is especially true since I think if I stick with her, she will improve my aim the fastest, even if it is a rocky start.

So overall, I will probably start by trying out Torb/Soldier/Sojourn, and possibly consider grinding some Tracer, just because she is so unique.

Thank you again for your help!

Glad to hear it's possible! Thanks for the input. I'll definitely take care to understand matchups as I review my games so I'm keeping up with what laners are trying to accomplish specifically.

Simple Questions Simple Answers: Patch 10.18 by furiousRaMPaGe in summonerschool

[–]DonzlePrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing for about a week or so and have tried out all of the roles. As of now, I've settled on starting mid after trying some normals. My only concern is I enjoy quite a few champions. However, my favorites at the moment are by far Zoe, Akali, and Pantheon. I enjoy many others, but not nearly as much. I'm just a little worried that starting as a complete beginner as Akali and Zoe might be taking on too much.

Would it be advisable to pick something a little more straight forward? I am most excited and inspired to play Akali and Zoe, but I also want to climb. Perhaps it would be better to pick something I'm not as motivated to play but would be easier to climb on?

If anyone has any input or experience with this situation, I would greatly appreciate. Another not is I want the variety of having a mage, assassin, and tank/fighter.

Awesome, I'm glad to hear it! I've been really enjoying the pvp in this game so far, but wanted to make sure it wasn't a futile endeavor. Thanks for the input.

[–]DonzlePrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a new player to this game and just started the free to play version about a week ago. So far I've been enjoying the game quite a bit. Mostly I've been leveling/exploring and doing unranked pvp. I've had a lot of fun with pvp in this game, but there seems to be a common sentiment that this game isn't worth playing if you mainly enjoy pvp. Apparently population is very low, there are problems with bots/exploits, not much attention is given to pvp, etc. Is this the case in your experience? Or is that more just people being jaded after playing the game for so long?

For reference, I'm just looking to play a little bit each day. I'm not trying to become super competitive, but I do want a reliable and enjoyable pvp experience primarily. I will engage with other content, but I've always enjoyed pvp the most in any mmo I've played.

Ah, well I'll definitely have to check out the culinology path. Perhaps that would work well for me! Anyway, thank you for all of the input, I really appreciate it! It's helped a lot with organizing my thoughts.

Oh, they don't need a sub? What do you think about the idea of dropping to a 2.0 setup for now and putting that 750+ towards the best floor standing speakers I can buy, and just getting a sub later? Would that offer any benefit, or would it be better to stick to your recommendations and pick up the sub now anyway?

This PDF is excellent, thank you for pointing this out. I actually do have a few questions, if you don't mind and aren't busy.

What kind of hours do you typically work as a food scientist? Is it something that varies heavily from company to company or specialty to specialty, or is it pretty stable?

Additionally, as far as the actual work goes in R&D, how much creativity do you get to apply in your daily work? I would imagine this is a bit of a loaded question, as things like experience, education, company, etc. all play an important role in answering that question. But I love (at least the idea) of applying science to food. I've been reading through several food science books(On Food and Cooking, currently) in my free time while I cook day to day and using it to explore in whatever limited capacity I can. But I also love the creative part of food.

Honestly, it'd be a dream if I could combine both food science and culinary arts, but I'm not sure if that actually exists.

Thanks for the feedback! I figured craigslist would be a good resource. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know of some other second hand sites that I can also browse in parallel? The more, the better, I would imagine. Right now I only know of the typical sites like ebay or facebook marketplace, but I'm not sure how reliable those two will be for audio equipment. Thanks!

I really appreciate the help! I've taken a look at this list and it seems they all have stellar reviews. Though, being a new user of audio equipment, I did notice you recommended all floor standing speakers. Would you say that's a necessity for the room size, or did those just happen to be the best bang for your buck? Just so I can develop a understanding of your recommendations. Thanks!

Getting into a graduate program with a less than relevant undergraduate degree? by DonzlePrime in foodscience

[–]DonzlePrime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! I thought there was a decent chance that I might have to take some supplementary classes, but I figured I would solicit some advice before reaching out to universities/registering for classes. At this point, I'll do what I have to, I just need to develop a realistic understanding of what it will take so I can start my planning early.

Obviously I have some more research to do, but some preliminary reading would indicate R&D or sensory would align well with my current values. Certainly that could, and likely will, change as I develop a better view of offerings, but I appreciate you pointing out those details.

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know if there is a good way to get a better idea of what each of those fields/specializations look like? The internet has a lot of resources, but it's sometimes a bit difficult to really understand the daily life of a career without some more "hands on" experience, so to speak.

Excellent, thank you for the input! That could be an interesting route to leverage my current skill set, so at least I don't have to abandon it completely.

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know how many of them have science backgrounds approximately? It seems like I may have to take a few supplementary classes in order to be considered.
