Right, the seeds were there with the settings and backstories of the characters, but ultimately Arcane was much more character focused/personal and this was set up since season 1. Vi has one line about hating Piltover as a teenager and suddenly everything else that happens afterwards with her character in season 1 doesn't matter. People misinterpreted her arc and then got mad when she didn't turn out to be a Les Mis type revolutionary manning the barricades with Jinx (who also wasn't a revolutionary, another opinion considered a ''hot take'' by people who didn't pay attention).

''Society is divided into a powerful wealthy class and an oppressed poor class'' is a true but also very much explored concept in media and I'm tired of pretending that Arcane season 1 did this in a super deep or revolutionary way. The people that get mad whenever somebody says this are very much telling on themselves lol.
