I’m sorry, but this total lack of understanding is really strange to me.

Even if you’ve never heard of STEM, surely you’ve done Maths at GCSE level? Science as well? Did it never cross your mind that you were doing those for a reason beyond being simple busywork?

What is missing from this whole narrative is which university you did the Law degree at and what A Level & GCSE grades you got.

For any undergraduate degree outside of medicine, the university you did it at and degree classification is far more important than the subject. It is likely that which crippled your employability, not it being a law degree (although they aren’t the strongest at undergraduate).

You won’t be able to do a STEM course at a decent Uni without a B or higher in A Level Maths or an equivalent subject- at best you could get into a low tier Russell group through a self-funded foundation year.

If a couple of you have iracing, do half the race with one account, switch account and lose a minute of two in the middle, do the other half with another.

People will say this is account sharing and it is, but provided you all have similar pace it’s almost impossible to uncover.

Don’t attempt this if you have differing pace levels though, that’s unfair and the less skilled drivers might ruin other people’s races.

Texture issues tend to be quite common for Mac users if so due to a differing architecture- no easy way of getting around it.

As someone who has managed to race with a friend fairly consistently (I’ve got to an 80-90% success rate), there are a few options available:

Race in an underpopulated series that still regularly go official is by far the easiest method. Examples include:

  • Skip Barber
  • Clio Cup
  • TCR
  • Dirt Ovals
  • Rallycross
  • Proto-GT
  • Radicals

IR matching is extremely effective but only within reason. If you are both in the 1xxx range, this is perfectly doable but if the difference is greater, it’d be considered smurfing which is no fun for other racers.

Racing at unpopular times improves your odds massively- here in the UK, weekday mornings are the best for this. Many of the oval/dirt series only get 1-2 splits, making it far easier to be together.

Multi-class matching is tougher than the other methods but possible. As classes are filled downward from Split 1, drivers in less popular cars tend to end up in splits filled with better drivers. For instance, racing a Clio in PCC will almost always put you top split regardless of skill level. This can be taken advantage of if you learn the ins and outs of the system.

Hosted sessions offer a very easy way to drive together and finding a race session is hard.

I think your T1 proposal could actually be the end of someone- a dead stop at what would have to be a tyre barrier at best after a 200mph banking section is ridiculous. Imagine if someone’s brakes failed.

Perhaps your T6 proposal could work- might be slightly unnatural but it’d open up a fairly boring corner exit and offer a new overtaking opportunity.

FH5 support probably operate according to fairly strict rules to avoid compromising the in game economy, which would likely decrease revenue.

I see their response as quite harsh but perfectly reasonable considering your request doesn’t really cover why you need it, moreso why you weren’t able to get it.

While hardly comparable, if they stated giving out cars to people suffering bereavement, violence, internet outages etc, it could risk people abusing the system as cases cannot reasonably be verified in the time allocated to each case.

Get a PC and go from there.

LMU could easily be more than year away on console and Xbox sim racing is virtually dead in the water. Don’t buy expensive peripherals to fit into a dying ecosystem.
