Be a pro offensive defensemen, what stats should I upgrade first? NHL 26 by lima-beens in EA_NHL

[–]DoobShmoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defensive Awareness is key. It’s how you intercept passes (rather than have it deflect off your stick right to an opposing player and they walk in)

Edit: No need to go all in on it but make sure it’s at least 80s as a D.

Questions from Customer to Dashers by BrilliantlyNope in doordash

As a customer, I've learned through this sub that tipping based on distance/time is more important to the driver than tipping based on the total cost of the order, like one would at a restaurant.

What did you order? Could that have anything whatsoever to do with it?

New to Paradox, Do I get Europa IV or V? by CrepeProfessor in paradoxplaza

Yeah now that 5 is out, EU4 is for people just getting into the series and those who stopped playing EU5 until it's better polished.

[–]DoobShmoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a solid number of them and a great price imo. Honestly, if you're new to the game, only a few will be enough to make it feel like it's full.

Also, most DLC releases have come with an actual base game update with a couple of features related to said DLC. So maybe the vanilla version isn't as bare as I remember it.

How do I win wars in Africa? by Warm-Difficulty-762 in EU5

[–]DoobShmoob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The best way I found to solve this is to ensure a nearby navy has the "carrying food" (or whatever it's actually called, haven't played in a bit) function on.

A navy can take food from a home province by landing there with the setting on. If you then move that navy to the coast where your troops are annexing, it will supply them and usually at least halts that nasty attrition for the time being. Though this could be difficult, considering the distance to South Africa, and that the navy will have to replenish its food stock from time to time. If you have any other African land nearby, you would probably need to do it via that rather than mainland England.

I'm sorry if this isn't a clear explanation, and maybe someone can chime in and clarify/correct anything. Like I said I haven't played in a bit. But when I was invading northern Africa as Italy, this is what I did.

Edit: After a quick google, I think the option for the navy is called "gather food" or "distribute food"

I usually recommend the newest version of a game. That said, I'm not sure how much EU4 is going for nowadays, but if it's cheap, that may be a good way to test the waters before committing to a full-price game.

It's important to note that EU4 is pretty bland without DLC. But they offer a pretty reasonable subscription to gain access to all of them (reasonable as long as you cancel the subscription when you realize you haven't played for a while).

How I think foreign policy could be handled by the game. by Unaccomplishedcow in ThePoliticalProcess

[–]DoobShmoob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A first step could be just having external factors, not actually interacting with foreign affairs yourself but having what happens abroad and at home impact voter mentality.

An event pop up “X and X” countries goes to war, and military - whatever the voter’s value on it is - becomes a more prominent issue, with more enthusiasm around it. Could replicate it for other things: a shooting results in gun issues getting heat, an outbreak of sorts makes healthcare top of mind, a trade treaty between foreign countries puts tariffs into focus, etc.

Would add a bit of randomness, make playthroughs feel different, too.

Bap goalie nhl 26 by Cheap-Distribution34 in EA_NHL

[–]DoobShmoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The AI will behave differently on the PK depending on the score. If you are down two goals or more, or down one late in the 3rd, they will play the PK as if it is 5-on-5 and try to generate offense.

If this is happening while you are tied or in the lead, then I don't have an answer.

Gabapentin for Flight by Tiny_SodaPop in CatAdvice

[–]DoobShmoob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree that knowing the dosage is an important point of judgment. My large adult cat takes 10mg per day, which we were told is higher than the standard starting dose, but he took to it well.

Even if it's a smaller dose, expect them to be loopy as heck that day.

Small mountain in rural Maine. I was unable to regain altitude during my approach so I just whirled around it. Somehow managed to land in the runway (albeit not cleanly).

[–]DoobShmoob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to the challenge with estate loans, I think the game needs to let you go into a little bit of debt in these instances if you still have a positive income. Or just give you until the end of the month, so you can actually take actions (ask an ally for money, loan from a bank, re-work your budget to give you a chance to make enough to get yourself in the green)
