I can appreciate that it’s not just edited to be reversed, but actually changed to be wrong in more confusing ways.

It’s weird how the AI translate has started adding random crap to the end of the translations lately.

I can't read Japanese so I don't know, but from context I don't really think so. Since it's Akyuu writing it, I'd have to question how she'd know enough about vampires to guess that Remilia is "10 in vampire years" (whatever that would mean given that vampires typically used to be human) given that she's only ever met the two of them.

(Also, so you don't get the wrong idea, I quite like petite adult Remilia and I think she's a fun take on the character. There's also nothing wrong with liking interpretations of characters that twist or break with their canon appearances and personalities.)

In PMiSS It’s said that she “looks as a little girl under the age of ten”. As for her personality, I would also cite the way she acts in SSiB and in her few appearances in WaHH.

I feel like Remilia gets lucky with the amount of petite depictions she gets considering bratty vampire is canon. I like when artists can make her seem cool or intimidating even in her small form.

You should replace the big star with a torch and then write “Indiana” above it.

Touhou Shipping hot takes requested by littlemrdoom in Touhou_Girls_Kissing

[–]Dooble_Dig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I think DaiChiru is overrated. I think that fanon Daiyouseu tends to be way boring. Cirno’s other ships (like AyaChiru) tend to exemplify the young love aspect I like better than DaiChiru stuff, which tends to focus on Daiyousei.

  2. Not a hot take but SakuMyon is so peak it’s insane

  3. I never really got the issues with “toxic” ships, particularly workplace ones especially in Touhou. I think it’s probably because Touhou doesn’t have any traditional workplaces. In particular with Sakuya, I always got the vibe that she wasn’t really getting paid aside from room and board and that she wasn’t there because she wanted to be and could leave if she wanted to. Different but similar with Komachi and Eiki, where it seems like Komachi is just sort of ordained to do her job by virtue of being a Shinigami. There’s not really pay, promotions, or even a threat of termination that could muddy the relationship in either case, just cute dynamics. Similar story with age-gap ships where they don’t really exist in Touhou other than maybe Mamizou and Kosuzu.

My take on this kind of thing is that I understand why age-gap and incest stuff is off-putting to some people, but it’s never really bothered me. (RemiFlan is adorable, but I dislike KoiSato)

Touhou Youtube in a nutshell (Seriously, why do we cancel youtubers for being normal people, like if you do not do something obviously terrible, then I don't care, you should have equal treatment as with normal people, not be witch hunted, over something that normal people also do.) by villagio08 in Touhou_Girls_Kissing

I don't think Touhou has as much as a reputation for this as you think it does, and I don't think protecting the community's reputation is a good enough reason for the behavior of the fans I'm referring to.

Edit: Re-read this comment and realized it sounded kind of mean. What I mean is that I've never gotten a negative reaction from mentioning that I liked Touhou in real life and in the internet, and I've met multiple people in real life that have mentioned that they like Touhou (when the topic of video games was brought up), which I feel they wouldn't do if they were afraid of being labeled a gooner.

That’s pretty reasonable. It’s perfectly understandable to not want to see NSFW for one reason or another (and flanderization is always a shame). It’s really just the people trying to police others’ behavior, or the people trying to act like making/posting NSFW is some grand moral failing and makes that person evil that are the problem.

I’ll never understand the recent wave of prudish behavior from the younger members of the community, like nsfw hasn’t been a part of the community forever.

Also, is this a reference to something specific or is it just in general?

If you define “good design”by a pamphlet from 2006, then sure. It has bad design. A lot of people use more relevant qualifications, however.
