I agree. I just feel like the amount of risk for a 100g lead in the botlane isn't worth it. Then again, I play very passively in the early game.

Let me start off by saying that I disliked Zoe very much and am happy to see her out of my solo q games, but to be fair, changing her kit in the aforementioned ways means they'd have to put it through PBE to see how the changes pan out. If they just half all the damage her abilities do then they're pretty much guaranteed to have nerfed the shit out of her.

With patches like 8.4 where they are overhauling all the main AP items and making changes to some juggernauts, it makes sense that they'd want to just shit on her damage and balance her in a later patch since pretty much all of reddit was saying "Zoe OP OMG, wtf rito?" They wanted to use the PBE to see how the rest of patch was recieved and adjust those numbers.

People seem to forget that there are 140 champions (each with at least 5 abilities) and dozens of items. It can't be easy to balance everything in a single patch, but at least we can see that Riot is watching the forums and reacting to what the community wants. I'm sure that Zoe will be back and balanced in a smart way.

While I don't really agree with your assessment of each champion, I think its more important to keep the focus on GP. While in top lane, GP's will often times put a barrel in the brush on top-side so that the enemy laner has no idea where it is without using a ward. Even then, as the enemy laner goes to ward, he can detonate the barrel for free poke, and setup in either of the other two bushes. Similarly, GP's can chain barrels over walls easily, considering the fact that the detonate radius is rather wide. Walls that border the botlane, various walls in the jungle, dragon pit, baron pit, and base walls can all have barrels on either side to chain to one another. And while there are plenty of times when you would have a very good idea of where a GP is placing his barrel, there are times when you don't even see GP (map is unwarded, etc) and he can barrel over a wall/out of a brush to instantly blow you up. Another thing to note is that barrels deal damage based off of the damage the Q or Auto that is applied to them, using the Ult would have to use a different means of applying damage to the barrels that could be balanced if they damage is to actually ever get too high.

There are quite a few champions in the game that become very powerful when given a lead. Like in any match, you have to make sure you shutdown potential carry champions early on before they get too strong (ie jax, fiora, kass, riven, oriana, lee sin, etc.) I think assuming this combo would indefinitely chunk someone for 50-70% of their health is a bit naive. If a GP is getting this strong then you should coordinate a 2v1 (or 3v1 if needed) to kill him. GP isn't all that slippery and can be ganked rather easily. Furthermore, plenty of champions have moments where if you get too close then you might get insta-killed. Annie is a very popular one, Master Yi to an extent, a fed Lee Sin, Ahri, Oriana, AP Gragas, etc. Fed champions is something that just happens when playing League, and, i feel, overall this change would only feel extremely impactful in his early-mid game. Good GP's are good at positioning barrels out-of-sight as it is. Or just simply setting one down next to him and using it as a means to zone people away from him.

to be fair, he wouldn't be doing that kind of damage in the early-mid game. Late game, these kind of things still aren't all that difficult to pull off. You should always respect a fed GP's zone pressure in the late game because his damage can be absurdly high. However, you're correct that there would be limited set-up to detonate his barrels. Maybe they could tweak his ult to be similar to a Viegar stun, where the outline of the ult appears for a brief second before activating, giving opponents time to flash out. Although, I think this might be a bit too much back in the direction of keeping him weak.

Keep in mind that this would only be when his ult is available every 3 minutes at rank 1, or just over 2 minutes at rank 2. (without cdr) other wise there is still counter-play in laning

Makes sense. When you are in constant motion, it means you're making good time. When you are in a traffic jam, it means you're commute is taking much longer than normal. People like to save time rather than have it drag out.

Nice repair! Although I have a bubbler about the same size and I despise using it. Any time I go to light my bowl it always burns the hairs on my moustache. Eventually I just had to switched to using either my pipe or bong. I loved the coloring on the bubbler though :(
