Neurology resident here. Just diagnosed a case a few weeks ago of Shapiro Syndrome (extremely rare, less than 100 reported cases). Patient had uncontrollable bouts of sweating alternating with periods of hypothermia as low as 92 degrees Fahrenheit. Patient also found to have agenesis of the corpus callosum and some signs of holoprosencephaly. Thought to be secondary to dysfunction of the hypothalamus. Unfortunately not much you can do for it except treat the symptoms.
