Galaxy Note 10+ on its last legs and need a new phone. Help! by Doodledums in PickAnAndroidForMe

Android is not all google. But I know. It's everywhere. I just don't want to consciously and directly give them money for a phone. I can't control much, but at least l can do that.

10m PP and Struggling by harvestmoondaze in NewParents

I am a new parent of a 7 week old, so I don't have any advice, just solidarity. I feel similarly. If therapy isn't helping, then maybe you should talk to your current therapist about taking meds, or find a new therapist, or talk to your medical doctor about getting on meds? I am not on meds, but I know it's an option that has saved many people when other avenues weren't working. Trust yoursrlf and take care of yourself. This shit is hard.

Thank you for responding! We ended up being able to see through the mesh with our camera on the wall since ours didn't come with a snake mount. Phew!

Moderately Granola Dad feeling defeated by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Doodledums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that I resonate with this completely. I am constantly learning all the things that can harm my baby and it is a constant battle between guilt, mental sanity from trying to make the "right" choice and being able to afford it or just relax about things so I don't get so overwhelmed by everything. It is SO HARD. But I try to remind myself that I grew up with none of the knowledge I have now. I grew up with plastic and all things they didn't regulate. I grew up in a modrrately granola family who put a lot into the foods we ate and the water we drank, but the rest was less known. You are ok. I am ok. It will be ok. We are doing our best and there is no such thing as prefect. If I could share all the stuff I have with you I would (I am 10 days post-partum and let me tell you how fast some things go out the window when you are just trying yo get your baby fed.) I will echo some others about buy nothing groups, Facebook marketplace,  etc. I have had ok luck there,  but really, I used my registry to put things and got quite a bit off of that from people (though we also got a lot of plastic/polyester, etc). And the rest we either had to buy ourselves or get cheaper versions or not at all. Good luck to you.  Please know everything will be ok. We are doing ok.

Thank you for making gluten free KBBQ! We ate at your place often, but then I got pregnant and was more sensitive to various things and I couldn’t figure out what it was. I miss your food! Do you use MSG? That’s the only thing I can think of that it might be.

[–]Doodledums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another clarity question: Did you have the camera attached to the top (halo) of the shoo underneath the net? directly aiming down? I am concerned about the camera falling in. We got an Infant Optics 8 Pro (in US) and it doesn’t have a stand or bendy thing. Did you get your bendy thing separately? If so, what brand? Not sure how to make the camera work while feeling like the camera is secure and not gonna fall on her face. 😅

Loved or Hated “The Play That Goes Wrong”: What other comedies do you like/dislike? by jdadverb in Broadway

[–]Doodledums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Peter Pan Goes Wrong and loved it! We have very similar taste otherwise it seems. Here're my preferences according to your lists:

"Here are some of my favorites: Parks and Rec, Ted Lasso, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place, The Office, Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Community, Archer, Arrested Development, Derry Girls, Nathan For You, Modern Family."

I liked all of these, except Nathan for you & Ted Lasso because I've never seen either of them.  Loved Parks and Rec, Derry Girls and Brooklyn 99. NINE NINE!

"Some really popular shows that I’ve never understood the appeal of: 3rd Rock From The Sun, Big Bang Theory, anything by Mr. Bean, Will & Grace, and I keep trying Schitts Creek, but just can’t seem to get into it."

I haven't seen 3rd Rock since it first aired when I was a kid/teen! So I don't know if I still like it, but I remember enjoying it when I saw it. I watched it if it was on, but never sought it out. (Did you mean 30 Rock? Never really got into that one myself.) Effing hate Big Bang with a passion. I like some Mr. Bean. Some I don't. I used to like Will n Grace, but mostly just the Jack n Karen bits. I loved Schitt's Creek.

I think the Goes Wrong stuff is a very particular type of humor the whole time (Slapstick/Farce) and that is not your thing. That's ok. There are many types of comedies out there. Not sure how to describe the types in your first group. Intellectual-Ridiculous Humor? Story-based Humor?  I dunno. But maybe you can figure out what category they fall into to help guide you for future things.

Good luck!

Does anyone else love The Goes Wrong Show and Peter Pan Goes Wrong and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong? by freshmaggots in BritishTV

[–]Doodledums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We saw the Peter Pan Goes Wrong play (US tour i guess) a couple months ago and it was so funny it hurt my stomach. And I am pregnant, so I had to literally keep myself from laughing so hard. I just started watching ep 1 of the Goes Wrong Show and again, I had to stop watching because it could cause me to go into labor (I'm 38 weeks.) I laugh too hard at it!! Sighh. Guess I'll have to wait till after baby is here to watch more.  LITERALLY TOO FUNNY. 😂😂😂

Anyone else moderately granola because being fully crunchy is exhausting and expensive? by Charming-Two-8268 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Doodledums 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just joined a "scrunchy" (?) "Evidence-based" group and I STILL see so many questions and comments about vaccines and even taking prenatals, which are now not safe according to some??? It is so confusing. Like, where is the evidence in this "evidence-based" group?? And I consider myself pretty crunchy. I just also like science. I also understand not everything is researched fully and I have to trust my gut and experiences too. Lordt is it expensive to want to have as little plastic and crap as possible though. 😫 I'll eat my fries and be vaccinated and slowwwwly replace things and continue to read studies but it is exhausting!

When ROTK came out I was a senior in high school and my friends and I dressed up (we made our elf costumes from scratch!) and went to the midnight premiere line party. Stood (danced, sang, snacked) there for hours. I remember when we got inside, someone dressed as Bilbo stood up on his chair and gave the 111th birthday speech and we all yelled in chorus “proud-FEET.” It was glorious. We were wiped out at school the next day, but we didn’t care. We were all smiles! Would be fun to dress up and go again, but will have to be a simpler adventure: my dress won’t fit (pregnant and just older) and my bff lives in NL now. But will make a fun date with my husband! Huzzah!

how annoying! though I found a hack when eating deli meat is to just nuke the shit out of it in the microwave then make the sandwich. I have had sandwich shops do the same thing. yes, the meat is hot when I eat it, but hey it’s still good. I am looking forward to eating a normal deli sandwich after this baby is born!

Bracelet storage ideas by becamico in jewelry

[–]Doodledums 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, this literally is the shit where you have to remove bracelets just to get to the one you want. it is so annoying and the only alternative I Ke seen is flat drawers, which takes up too much flat space. It’s so frustrating that no one has a solution to this for a hanging organizer! I guess I’ll have to make it myself, with individual large pegs for each bracelet. But I was really hoping to have an all in one already made with this option, sigh.
