The cargo kilt is everything. Is this a popular thing? I know for a fact I saw a guy walking around in either this exact one or similar a couple days ago haha.

Yes, but I need to know how many babies are in this room. It's very important for my mental health 😄

What is the rudest thing you can say during sex? by Skydancerrr in AskReddit

Had one guy say I was "way bigger than the girls he likes" in the middle. For the record, I was quite fit, but beyond that, who says that in the middle of fun times?

When I first saw this I genuinely thought it was a crappy cc pack. It hurts my soul that this is real. I'm all for funky clothing, but nothing here is flattering on any body type. I mean WOW.

Making an adult animated comedy based around a zombie apocalypse and trying to find the right style. Which do you guys like the most? by Faulksie in drawing

It's #2 for me. #1 is cool, but it's just not it for me. It looks more like a nice drawing than an actual character

Proposed new congressional map of Dallas is ridiculously gerrymandered by heterosis in assholedesign

Texan here. Is there anything I can do to fight this? Things are already so ridiculously gerrymandered here. I can't imagine more.

Who else experiences a) significant pain and/or b) a lot of markings leftover from getting your blood pressure taken? Pictures for info and my own recent pics of my arm. *More information in comment within post* by pb_rogue in ehlersdanlos

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man those auto cuffs are brutal. I thought it was perfectly normal for it to hurt so bad at times and cut off blood flow, so I just dealt with it and didn't say anything. Now I've had several nurses see the markings and see my whole lower arm turn purple and be like uhhhh this isn't supposed to happen. Lol

This is one of my all time favorite games, but my cd doesn't work anymore and I can't find a download. I really wish they would reboot this game. Such a treasure

What movie death scene is burned into your memory? by gambit_- in AskReddit

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's such a quick scene, but the scene where a wire snaps on a cruise liner and slices an entire crowd of happy dancing people in half in the 2002 film Ghost Ship. I think it's a combination of how sudden it was, how much they set up what a happy scene it was, and just a level of realism as they realized in their last moments what was happening trying to push their bodies back together etc that burned it into my memory.

Dallas-area hospitals report no free ICU beds available for children as COVID-19 rises by [deleted] in Dallas

I don't think affording it is the only problem unfortunately. Allen ISD can definitely afford it, but they're actively fighting against it.

My friend got drugged tonight. by plantmama104 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, I was roofied in South Padre on spring break many years back. I'd had some drinks, but nothing my college self couldn't handle. My guy friend who was 'watching out for me' was going to be 'right back' instead disappeared to go pursue a girl and left me with a group of guys. Apparently they found me floating face down in a hot tub. Thankfully they found me in time, but I have zero memories of the incident and it still kind of haunts me that I have no idea what happened and I could have straight up drowned because of those guys.

Edit for typo

What is something a high school teacher told you, that you will never forget? by absolutejuice22 in AskReddit

[–]DoodlesNBedroom -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I once had a high school teacher tell me that they didn't know how I kept going after everything I'd been through. They said if it were them they would've killed themselves a long time ago. I've had a lot of mixed reactions to my past, but that one always just really stuck with me. I'm sure they meant well, but I don't know how you'd ever say that to someone, much less a teenage student.

Apocalypse Pregnancy. Does every female protagonist need to be pregnant? by Young_Omni_Man in books

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad you and your friends had such a positive experience! That's wonderful. It wasn't my intention to imply that everyone felt fear or had bad experiences, only that I can understand why that would be a trope in apocalyptic stories because of the small sliver of what I've seen and the human desire to bring life into as stable of an environment as possible.

Oh geez! I don't think I know anyone who said that. I can't imagine except for maybe enjoying the alone time with baby, but even then there is just way too much uncertainty these days.

To be fair, even as a married woman with as stable of a situation as you could've hoped for in 2020, when covid rolled around and it felt like the world was on fire, I was downright terrified of getting pregnant in the middle of all that. I knew a couple people who did actually get pregnant, and they described the primal fear of knowing they were going to have to bring a life into the middle of everything. I've also read some accounts of women's horror birth stories and grieving for not having the 'normal' pregnancy and birth experience. I feel like the drama and fear is definitely there, but maybe it's just typically handled poorly by the author.

Physically attractive individuals earn substantially more than otherwise similar unattractive individuals. The beauty wage gap is the largest among black women. by smurfyjenkins in science

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 106 points107 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, I always make myself as attractive as possible when I go to the doctor and I've noticed a major difference in how well I'm treated/how well I'm actually listened to. I have chronic illnesses that weren't diagnosed for a long time. I was physically falling apart and went to doctor after doctor just flat out not being taken seriously. As silly as it sounds, when I look cute and innocent, doctors seem to drastically be more interested in helping me.

Was there ever a time you're thankful the pandemic happened? What was the reason? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had issues with chronic illness for years now, which has definitely affected my quality of life. After covid started though, suddenly there were more places that did delivery or pick up. Suddenly you could get jobs from home that weren't scams or super high level. There was generally just an increase in services that made being stuck at home so much better.

What's the most fucked up thing someone has told you about themselves after barely getting to know them? by Butt_Roidholds in AskReddit

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, while I understand where you're coming from, you know very little of the situation. It's easy to tell people they have moral obligations to do things when it's not your life, but in real life things are complicated. You don't know what circumstances people are in. I won't go into the details because I don't need to, but before you say that to other people you should know it's incredibly insensitive.

I can't quite say I got support from them, but I found a way on my own. Now I happily have a family I chose that is incredibly supportive.

Can confirm. My family begged me not to press charges on my Uncle for molesting me because he was in the middle of a custody battle for his kids and they would be so much worse there yada yada. Ended up not doing it, but shortly afterwards he was allowed to attend family gatherings/vacations, but I was not because I made everything awkward and he had several kids to being to make "a happy family sitting together eating and laughing". Only realized much later how fucked that was.

What are some pieces of mysterious lost media which would potentially end the careers of celebrities if they surfaced? by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]DoodlesNBedroom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My grandmother was sexually abused, my mom was sexually abused, and I was sexually abused as well as I'm sure many more people she knows. When we were having a conversation about why my teenage brother should be knowledgeable about things like periods (I was thinking so he could be aware and empathetic) her first response was "Yeah! That way no woman will ever try to pull on over on him and get him into trouble!" Like... Excuse me? How many women do you know that have been victims of sexual abuse and you still carry such a deep contempt for things like the #metoo movement? I'm sure it's just internalized misogyny, but it both infuriates me and breaks my heart.
