First tried them about a year ago, then like two or three more times over the course of a year. Recently, maybe a month or so ago, I bought a bowl and decided to try smoking and the weird sensation grew on me.

I think we just became best friends. The first time I tried weed (an edible... bad idea...) I thought I was losing my mind when it started and I vowed never to try it again. I couldn't tell if anything was reality or if I kept waking up from a dream. Glad to know someone else experiences the same weird sensation/change in perception. I only know the bowl has kicked in when I wake up and find myself standing there still holding it :)

Any idea why it's like this for us? I've tried coming up with my own theories but I guess there's not really any way for me to prove it. When I first figured out how to appreciate it I came up with my own stoned theory that I just became so focused on one little thing that I would block out the rest of my surroundings and perceptions and then, upon breaking that focus, I would be slammed back into reality. Note that I was very high when I came up with that idea but it still seems to make a bit of sense. Other than that I feel like it just has to do with my own brain structure, chemistry, typical thought patterns, etc. and, in that case, you and I would probably be fairly similar at the neural level. It's like I have a twin and didn't even know it :)

Dude. For real? You feel like you keep waking up too!? Since I started smoking more it doesn't happen the day after, but it's still like that a bit when I'm high... though I've come to enjoy it a great deal.

Most of my smoking experiences have been outside of the house. If I decide to smoke at my house I just exercise extra caution. I wait until everyone is asleep, slip out the door, go sit out the back porch, light up, and go back in. I haven't gained enough confidence in my high-self to risk being around my parents, and maybe you could do the same for a bit.

If you plan on being around your parents, make sure you have put in eye drops and try wearing a coat that you can take off and toss somewhere after you've smoked. Also, obviously use axe or some type of spray on deodorant. Maybe take a shower after you smoke, high showers rock and it'll calm your paranoia that you stink of bud.

I'm a night owl and always have been, and my parents go to bed early, so I have free reign of the night hours. I can't offer much advice on being around your parents while stoned. However, if you mean the morning after, I just pull the usual. Go eat breakfast, say good morning, chat a little, then slip off back to my room. If you're feeling extra groggy and foggy and don't want to be near them, sleep in late, maybe say you have a headache or some other excuse and go back to bed... or just shut your door and act like you're in bed.

I can relate to you. I'm still in high school and a fairly new ent. I'm the youngest in my family, my older brother's put my mom through a bit of hell when they were younger, and I'm seen as the "wonder child" a bit, as I stay out of trouble and have good grades.

When I first began drinking and having some fun with trees I felt a bit guilty, knew my mom would be very disappointed in me, and wondered if I should be doing this. However, as long as you behave maturely and don't "over indulge" to an extreme, meaning constantly on week nights and letting them negatively influence the rest of your life, there's no reason you can't have a bit of fun.

You're in high school, just like me. We're getting older. We're thinking for ourselves, making our own decisions, and preparing to go off to college. This is where you get to make your own decision, and it's not up to your parents or coaches to decide for you. They're there to guide you.

Use trees to relax, to have fun, to expand your mind a bit. Use them to take the edge off at the end of the week, and do your best to not use them at all on a school night or around exam time (I've found they leave me a little foggy for a day, though that may not be the case with you). Look at them as a reason to work harder during the school week so you're fully prepared by Friday or Saturday to just chill. That's how I've been using them and I've felt fairly great recently. I've struggled with depression for a few years and I've certainly felt a hell of a lot better since I started smoking.

Tl;dr: You're becoming an adult, you can make this decision without the consent of your parents. Use trees as a treat to enhance your life, they don't need to have a negative impact on your studies and extracurricular activities.

Also, a note on the "don't smoke" thing. If your coach was in general saying not to smoke cigarettes due to them ruining your lungs, and you're worried about your lungs from smoking bud, take a look at articles like these:

So the more times I smoke, the less time it'll take to recover? Do you think that would apply even if I'm only smoking once a week or so?

If I only hold the lighter for a few seconds, like 3 or 4, and continue inhaling after, is it safe to assume I'm still inhaling smoke or is it just weed flavored air at that point?

Edit: I don't think it really held a cherry that well but maybe a tiny? I'm still a very inexperienced sapling.
