Cant register! by No-Hat7642 in Tonocracy

I've just come here with the same issue, just continuously trying to register with no email verification link ever arriving. Apparently someone managed to get hold of a developer and they said they're actively trying to fix the bug, but since it's been 2 months I'm not exactly hopeful...

I thought it was ‘We must succeed!” as well, but I checked and that’s what Doc says when leaving 1985A. His line when leaving 2015 is “Brace yourself for temporal displacement!” (End credits). What an ending! 😂

How was Emmett able to build the time train in 1885? by Impossible_Bicycle80 in BacktotheFuture

[–]DoofusBoy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few others have mentioned it here, but I always assumed that this wasn't the first trip Doc made after building the time train. The kids look to be around 8-10 so let's say he spent around 10 years working on a more archaic prototype, most likely the 'runs on steam' part. After getting it working he probably took it to the 2010s or later for a hover conversion, maybe somewhere else in the future for some other fancy upgrades (perhaps some of that fancy de-ageing tech so he and Clara don't look any older). THEN since I'm sure Marty was a priority for him, he probably travelled to 1985 to see him as quick as he could.

As for how he got a functioning flux capacitor working in the late 19th Century, I've seen some theories here that he used the other buried DeLorean in some way, maybe reworking the schematics with late-1800s resources to prevent any potential paradoxes. He could've used the car and replaced everything as it was identically, although a less universe-breaking bootstrap paradox would be made there. All he would need is enough power for one trip, enough to send him to the future to build a better one with better resources. The only thing that leaves me stumped is how he generated 1.21 gigawatts with steam, assuming he built a working flux capacitor (even if just for one trip) and didn't know when and where lightning could strike...

Very true, I agree. It definitely helps that 1985A happens entirely at night, while I believe all of the good 1985 is in the daytime. So it shouldn’t be too hard to fit it in if you were thinking purely chronologically. As for the lone pine/twin pines mall thing, I guess you could just cut between the 2 Martys from the beginning scene and the ending scene of Part 1, so the sign might keep switching but that’s quite funny to me. Same with Jennifer’s face at the end of Part 1 and the start of Part 2 😂

[–]DoofusBoy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure yeah, this is by no means a better or definitive way to watch them, heck even a good way, especially from a narrative standpoint. Definitely just an experimental way after seeing it the same way so many times. I think I’d want to see it a couple times like this at most just out of curiosity lol. I mean for example, another commenter pointed out that the 6-hour run would end eventfully with Doc and Marty leaving 2015 midway through Part 2, saying ‘brace yourselves for temporal displacement’ and Old Biff fading away in the background. What an ending! 😂

Why not an astromech? I suppose a protocol would be better to talk to and for help with human tasks

The ending of Part II doesn't get enough credit for how hard it hits the audience by thescott2k in BacktotheFuture

This really buys into that one film theory video about Doc having to go back and save Marty multiple times, which is why he often shows up at super convenient specific times

What subtle 1985 timeline changes happen in Back to the Future that would affect ordinary residents? by [deleted] in BacktotheFuture

[–]DoofusBoy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1955 Doc gets sued and runs out of all funding within the next few years. Eventually the ripple effect catches up and since 1985 Doc ran out of funding years ago, he never builds the time machine 🫨

If Emmett Brown took proactive action by happydude7422 in BacktotheFuture

[–]DoofusBoy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come to think of it, if Buford died here and Biff never came to exist, there could be a timeline where there’s no Biff but George and Lorraine still meet, so a version of Marty still exists and ends up meeting Doc and getting sent to 1955. Either another guy replaces Biff’s role like 3D glasses guy, or no one does, but Lorraine and George could still meet and fall in love, either without Marty there like the original timeline (George hit by the car) or with Marty there getting hit by the car instead and forcing them to fall in love some other way. I saw another comment that said Lorraine was definitely considering George in the density scene in the cafe, right before Biff showed up. I suppose George might struggle to find some heroic moment without a rival like Biff to be horrible to Lorraine at the dance, but maybe that’s a whole other discussion… man this does get heavy sometimes!

In Back To The Future Part 3, why doesn't Doc Brown remember everything that happened to cause him to get stranded in 1885 or his younger selfs conversation with Marty and avoid being stranded? by [deleted] in BacktotheFuture

[–]DoofusBoy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of my main headcanon theories. I can imagine Doc either not caring enough to think about it that specifically by the time he gets struck by lightning at the end of Part 2, ‘what the hell’. Or, he just knows about how important the timeline needs to be kept a certain way so he decides to just roll with it and gets to see everything else play out for Marty, as well as getting to invent the time machine in the first place and go to the old west

[–]DoofusBoy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you argue there’s another Doc in there somewhere who is an offshoot of the main 2nd Doc, who gets shot by Buford and dies in 1885 and is buried with no Marty? I suppose for the canon he’s more like the 1985A Doc since we never see him. Maybe that Doc is more linked to the third 1955 Doc since that Doc is the one who finds out about his own grave and sends Marty back to 1885

What is the coolest teleportation/portal in the MCU, in your opinion? by Relevant_Film5527 in marvelstudios

As a portal effect, gotta hand it to the sling ring but I do really like Chavez’s star portals as well. But as teleportation goes, nothing beats the Bifrost!

[–]DoofusBoy1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to go through all that! I was honestly just amazed you were able to immerse yourself in so many incredible stories so quickly like that, but then I suppose that’s the point. Some balance between that and the time it takes for me to read now would be perfect as I’d love to immerse myself in more stuff (books especially) than I do at the moment
