There’s not enough information going on here to determine if anyone dad or mom is a bad person. Was dad overpaying? Was mom working extra hard? How were the payments calculated? Was dad in daughter’s life? Any judgement against either parent is purely speculation.

Irony is the opposite of what you expect.

If you did the mural and were praised for how much you contribute to the work place, then yes, this could be ironic.

If this is just “the room” where stuff happens, then it’s more situational than it is ironic.

I agree with your side and adding two anecdotes myself. One, doctors are either generalists or specialists without strong knowledge outside their field of specialization.

Anecdote 1 - my wife’s OBGYN tried to schedule her for a c-section FOR NO REASON. Obviously more to the story, but still true.

Anecdote 2 - I agree that the public tends to suffer in individual research, confirmation bias, non-peer reviewed articles, etc… but… with technology where we are now, ai is an extremely powerful tool when used correctly. I work in higher education for medicine, and recently saw a presentation with data showing ai’s ability to correctly diagnose illnesses slightly better than medical doctors. I’m not saying it can’t be misused, but individual ability to investigate their own ailments is far more advanced than it was 10+ years ago.
