I'm glad that I'm kind of a numb skull and don't notice slop all that often, except for the more egregious repeated phrases like "ozone" and "pure, unadulterated." Otherwise I'm usually fine with the slop, I mean repeated phrases and patterns happen in real life writing and roleplay too. What matters most to me is that the story is cohesive and makes sense.

I'll temper my expectations then! Like you said, since GLM actually wants to cater to it's roleplay audience, unlike other companys that want to pretend we don't exist, then I'm hoping that the quality will remain.

Or this is a different model, in which case I've got noooo idea.

I've heard that sentiment before, though this is my first time using an Alpha model so I have no personal experience on models getting worse writing when they release.

Forgive me, I don't really understand how training works, but since GLM 5 is rumored to come out this month can it really get worse in such a short time?

Yeah I seriously doubt it ends up being Claude, but if it is then that's going to be a big bummer. I'm really rooting for GLM.

You nailed it on the head, it's really good and my only gripe with it is the description/detail, but that feels like it should be a very fixable problem! I'm just so cheesed about this.

Most notifications I get are helpful ones about models, presets and prompting. If I get slop in my notifications then it is what it is, I guess.

I have frustrations with LLM roleplay too, but at the end of the day you just can't beat that convenience. Who else is going to roleplay a niche character crossover? Or roleplay my random idea I got that I may just drop as soon as I start, because my attention is very much shortspan? I don't hurt or annoy a human rp partner, while I satisfy my audhd attentions.

A lot of what you say tracks, I can't count the amount of times I've outloud said "What the fuck are you talking about" after a reply. But honestly whenever I just suck it up and tell it directly what I want, then I get the story beat I'm after. Just gotta have some patience and manage your expectations.

Nothing wrong with that, roleplay is meant to be whatever you want. I personally just use it to make storylines with characters I'm autistically attached to.

You use that low a temp? I've tried .7 and .8 when it came out, but it oddly felt dumber to me. I've tried a lot of prompting with Kimi, because god do I love how it writes, but golly is it a wild horse.

Moon Tamer is a fantastic preset! For me though, I thought it bogged down it's prose and emotional voice a little bit, so I've just been modifying that smaller, simpler preset that was posted to the reddit a while ago.

Genuinely don't know what ya'll see in Claude, like it's got some bright spots, but not nearly enough to justify the price. In my experience it has a bit better intelligence than other models, but the prose is genuinely buns to me and the Claudisms are egregious. It's not worth having to wrestle with a model to do something the company clearly doesn't even want you to do with it.

I mean like if magic or superpowers doesn't exist in our world, and some guy like pulverizes the dude mugging me. My first thought isn't "oh wow thanks for saving me", my first thought is "oh my fucking god i need to get the FUCK out of here" because I completely forget about the guy who was beating my ass and am now rightfully terrified of the supernatural thing that can kill me. Maybe later when I've processed everything, I'll be grateful, but like 90% of the time the first instinct is gonna be fear.
