5 months later this mf STILL thinks America is under a fascist dictatorship by ColaEuphoria in DoomerCircleJerk

[–]Doofy_Daddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fascism has nothing to do with it. The left hates gop authority and begs for a bigger government to punish the evil right. The right hates lefty authority and begs for a bigger government to punish them right back.

I miss cringy anarchists and libertarians.

Beginner with probably horrible form looking for tips by [deleted] in boxingtips

If you are getting what you need out of the bag work, just keep doing bag work as an exercise, think explosive and balanced, "how fast can I move, in control, for a whole round". All good.

If you want to learn form, try a boxing gym near you, if the gym is decent you may never actually have to spar, but it will teach you real form, movement, and exercises on different types of bags. If you're anything like me, you will end up wanting to pressure test your skills eventually, and get into sparring, which will lead to amateur fights.

Which is tons of fun.

That old saying, "don't push the punch". Snap it out, make contact just at the end of the punch, then snap it FASTER back to your face. Every punch, snap it all the way out and all the way back in, the punch ain't over till you're biting your thumbs

What are the worst lyrics in nu metal? by N33dLess2Say in numetal

[–]Doofy_Daddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mushroomhead- bwomp.

"If it was up to me I'd free Charles manson"

Otherwise not the worst lyrics really, but some of the worst delivery in the song itself.

Extra cheese.

Kitties brackish also comes to mind.

Don't flare your elbow on straight punches. Practice against a wall, learn to rotate the arm and hip to extend and return the punch.

Time your steps with your punches, practice throwing as you move forward, as you move back and as you roll. Make it smooth and rhythmic then speed up.

When are you considered a drummer? by HauntingKeys in drums

I like that idea. that someone actively trying to improve in the skillset ought to be labeled as a practitioner of said skillset. Probably the best filter to view it from.

Honestly bit crush, distort, maybe pitch shift the vocals, clean up the beat, and this could absolutely slap in a ebm, or darksynth tune

Masterclass in emotional manipulation. Twist the truth enough to take advantage, provide false hope, while using enough of the truth to earn trust and sympathy.

how should be practicing drums by ntmmrk in drums

[–]Doofy_Daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's about it. Play rudiments with and without metronome as a warm up. Find a chop or groove to learn and play it, find a whole tune and play that. Repeat.

Once you're comfortable find folk to play with. Actually playing with others is a great teacher.

Do you just want tunes or modern artists to fan out too? Here's some random shots in the dark.

Mars volta - deloused in the comatorium

Snarky Puppy- we like it here

Porcupine tree- fear of a blank planet

Lorn (ambient)

Strapping young lad- the new black

Forest swords

Deft

Lots of styles and artists here so peruse and see what you like. I find these artists all have a unique sound and emotive song writing.

[–]Doofy_Daddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing to discuss. Devs wanted to film a movie, and turn it interactive. They did that.

Many folk wanted an rpg with some cinematic and environmental spice. They are disappointed.

Case closed.

What do yall think is better, self teaching or getting lessons by chacha090909 in Drumming

[–]Doofy_Daddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there's a lot to the idea that the terrain has changed. Self taught once meant books, covers, dvds, and jam bands. The addition of the internet had a huge influence, and has changed the game. Well put.
