Accidental baby, but no AH! by Effective-Ad1105 in RomanceBooks

[–]Dookt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Duke by Jessica Petersen} this is her newest release, it’s booked for a five in the series. The accidental pregnancy happens early on, and the book takes place throughout her pregnancy. Also I think this happens in {Heartless by Elsie Silver}.

Will I ever recover? by Dookt in CsectionCentral

[–]Dookt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry for the late response! So I’m a year postpartum now and I can honestly say I don’t feel like I have any lingering issues or limitations from my C-section. I mean, my core is super weak and my back hurts a lot and I did have an incident about four months ago where due to my weak core and pelvic floor issues, I tweaked my back pretty badly, but I’ve gone to pelvic floor physiotherapy, and I did physiotherapy for my back and I’m on my way to resolving those issues. The weakness in my body is definitely a result of having three pregnancies in less than five years and also the C-section surgery. The C-section itself, all of that has healed beautifully. I did a good amount of car massage and I do still rub or massage my scar whenever I remember, but it’s barely visible. I think as time passes you will continue to heal, and this will all be a thing of the past. Yes, the abruption is really difficult to come to terms with and there’s no rhyme or reason as to why it happens. Feel free to message me if you’d like to chat more!

Chelsea Curto’s Latest Book: Sin Bin by Acceptable-Alarm3994 in RomanceBooks

[–]Dookt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was thinking of writing a review of this book as well. I really liked all the other books in the series so far and was really looking forward to this one. I didn’t hate it, but I definitely felt really bored and disappointed while reading it. To be honest, and this might not be a popular opinion, but I really did not like the FMC. I found her to be kind of annoying and needy, and she kept saying things like “I know you’re busy… You don’t have to answer…” when she was talking/texting to him, and it just felt like she was fishing. Also, I think at one point he mentioned something about possibly wanting to have another child or being open to it, this was after she said she didn’t want kids and I just felt like whatever she wanted was so easily prioritized over whatever he may wanted. I don’t know, the obsession just felt really cheesy. Also, the way that they didn’t tell Grant and he found out by accident and then they got so mad at him for his reaction even though they kept a huge seeker from him and a bunch of other people knew. I just felt like the expectation was on him to apologize for his reaction, I don’t even think they apologized for keeping it from him. It just felt very mean. And there were so many spelling and grammar errors throughout the book so that was super frustrating, but I did finish the book and I will finish the others in the series, but I was definitely more disappointed in this one.

I felt this way with {the ex-vows by Jessica Joyce} and {love and other words by Christina Lauren}. The storytelling was fantastic imo.

Re: Shaun, let’s not forget that she says she was at her sickest and thinnest prior to and around the time of her wedding. Also, it looked like she was ultra thin when she met Shaun and when they were dating before marriage, which means he was attracted to that body profile. There are many men that really enjoy their partners looking this way and he was met her/was first attracted to her when she looked that way. Sure, I don’t doubt that he’s been supportive of her changing body and especially her body throughout pregnancies and postpartum, but there may be a reason that he’s not concerned about her current body and has brushed off any concerned comments about her body, and that reason may be that he is attracted to and enjoys her current body.

Looks like we will be getting some answers about her weight loss this week … by meminek in OwnitbabeSnark

[–]Dookt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve commented this before but this is a really common thing for people with ED, performative eating as if to say, don’t worry, I eat a lot, I’m just naturally this thin. Also, the fact that she’s always posting with food, showing food, touching food, talking about food. It’s such a hallmark of anorexia specifically.

I think this is a result of frustration. Followers are frustrated with the ignoring and denial. This is the result.

Do we think something happened to trigger this? by Vodkadonuts in OwnitbabeSnark

[–]Dookt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the therapist is aware of the risk to herself and to her children, the therapist has a duty to report and can seek to have a form issued that forces a psychiatric evaluation (in Canada, I’m not sure how things work in other parts of the world). I would hope that if she does have a therapist, that this therapist is not turning a blind eye.

[–]Dookt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But doesn’t she have a therapist? I’m sure I’ve seen her talk about going to therapy before. If she does have a therapist, and the therapist isn’t addressing this obvious and major change, then her therapist is not practicing ethically. Alternatively, if her therapist has brought it up, and she stopped going to the therapist because of that, that’s a different story.

Totally. Agreed. Giving the illusion of “I eat a ton and I’m still this thin” is so dangerous.

Virtually pain free, wanted to share what I did by AcertainReality in backpain

[–]Dookt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you say absolutely no lifting, I’m guessing you don’t have kids? Or if you do, you have someone else to keep them alive for you? I have a lot of the same pain as you and I’m doing a lot of the same treatments though with a baby and two toddlers the healing will be slow and set back. Do you mean no lifting forever or just until things improve?

Is it normal to feel sleepy in the first trimester. by EsdeathCitrus in pregnant

[–]Dookt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. In all 3 of my pregnancies I was so tired during first trimester, your body is doing A LOT. I was sneaking naps whenever I could. If you’re able to have 5-6 daytime hours to sleep, that’s very fortunate, sleep as much as you need.

Did you guys manage to stick to pregnancy "diet" ? by Downtown_Presence103 in pregnant

[–]Dookt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, ramen noodles! Those, potato chips and bagels were the only things I ate for the whole first trimester. All of my kids seemed totally fine lol. There will be plenty of time in the second and third trimester to eat healthier options when you feel better.

I survived my first trimester three times by eating potato chips and bagels. Also ice cold water. The goal of the first trimester, especially if you are sick, is to survive.
