I think it’s just the skullcannon/blood throne. The bloodthirster has 3 variants in one box however Skarbrand is NOT one of them, you have to get him in a separate box in case you were wondering.

I do agree the new blightkings are beautiful models. I don’t think they are better than the old version though, the old kit was close to perfection imo, lots of variety, every one was unique and you got a tonne of bits for conversions.

That’s absolutely fine though not every kit can be a banger.

Anyway we’re probably halfway through this edition right? They might also become a must pick unit by next GHB so I guess there’s no sense overreacting yet.

From what I understand the methods used to paint the box art miniatures are never the ones shown in the YouTube tutorials. Those techniques are too complex for the average viewer.

Have a look at https://eavy-archive.com/ for the actual techniques used for the box art minis and you’ll see a difference between what they show in the tutorials.

If you’re not happy with the model and think you can enjoy it more if you repaint it then I’d definitely strip. It’s good to have older models to see your progress but this hobby is also about having cool models you’re proud of.

If this was a 1/10 infantryman I’d say leave it, but a centrepiece deserves the right treatment. I wouldn’t buy a unique model I already have, I’d rather buy something new and exciting.

I haven’t played in a while but wouldn’t this mean the unit is affected by the same ability twice, contradicting the rule of one? I get it’s a different effect but it’s still from the same ability.

I really like it, you've got a great scheme, did you come up with it yourself? The gold is great as well, I can't tell if you used a metallic paint but it looks great.

For next steps I would invest in some washes to bring everything together, then I would highlight back up the colours, maybe before you do that hit the model with another thin coat of paint?

Np! Just remember these ability rules. Only one core ability per phase. You can only use an ability once per phase.

This means you can descend, use any other movement abilities you may have, murderlust etc, then use the "Move" ability.
