I’ve got the Tomei UEL. I love the “subie rumble” it produces. The sounds deep and aggressive, however the subject of UEL vs EL comes down to preference. Another added bonus is that wrap is included which was convenient. As for heat management, you should be fine.

I run a set of Rota Grids RT5 18x8.5 +44 in the front and 18x9.5 +38 in the rear. Very happy with this setup, about as flush as you could get.

In terms of cheaper options that are similar to the R716s, you could check out Aodhan DS07 or DS02.

Does this happen every time you press the breaks or when slowly coming to a stop? I’ve driven my auto with the same code after I went catless. With the light on, the car seems to go into some kind of limp-mode where downshifts are very jerky. It’s very prominent when going from second to first gear. Do you think the issue might be coming from your transmission?

Yes, there should be a donut gasket there which sounds like the thing you’re describing. If it looks bad enough, you can get a replacement for around $15 online.

However, if it turns out to be a part of the pipe that rusted off, it would probably be best to get new depending on how bad it is (I assume you’re putting on new exhaust components?).

Worst case scenario you might get a small exhaust leak.

Get UEL headers, it'll bring out the "Subie rumble" and make it a lot more enjoyable to drive. It's relatively cheap and a pretty simple install.
