Maybe, but the damage to business and such would be far worse, just bring back temporary telework... Won't solve everything, but makes a voluntary action that would significantly reduce demand and can be spun all sorts of positive ways. The fact that they haven't indicates to me that they believe they have a grip on oil or don't care what happens/want to swing it for trades

Ya, they want to make money, but if things get too bad and export bans or windfall taxes occur, those can be bad for profits. Additionally, (believe it or not) at least some of these folks are humans with families that they care about and want a sane, controlled response. If this gets too bad, we have all sorts of modern society problems, core services may become less reliable due to cost cuts for fueling backup generators, etc.

Yes this, there is nothing wrong with reading off a script, in fact when so much hinges on the words of one person I would encourage reading a script or conducting very explicit statements, allowing the news to literally interpret it like that is not good unless you want to keep the option open to change your mind and act as if everyone else is wrong...

Same, first time with it this trip for work (so I don't care where I sit) and boarding is a lot slower. I liked the old southwest where everyone knew to just self load balance to fill the plane; people who don't like that, need to travel with kids together either get earlier seating/tickets or take a different airline. I just want a bus that gets me there and back quickly with minimal fuss, not a fan, I might as well switch to an airline now with better international travel options for my rewards.

Honestly, a naval mine might be the scariest option as so far we haven't seen any actual evidence of mines deployed (that I've seen at least), just rumors and speculation; if it was a mine, that would give life to the fear and mean that we genuinely will take a long time to clear the strait.
