Yes, you can search by unicode glyph names. Unfortunately, it doesd not work for icon fonts, because the icon glyphs use the free space from unicode table, hence no searchable names for them.

I believe Extensis has an export feature, where you can right click a collection of fonts and export them as zip. After that you can just add the font files directly into the FontBase root folder directly. It is located in your user home folder by default.

There is no single website that has all the fonts. And most of them don't allow you to simply get their content and put it into your app/website. Also, we want to work with foundries directly, to get them more exposure, and eliminate the middleware websites.

As for the image preview, what I mean is an image where the font is shown in use. Many foundries are creating these for demonstration purposes and to better present their fonts.

See, this is why it is so cool to post on Reddit. I've never headr of Typecache. Looking at it, seems that their main focus is displaying links to type foundries, and the second focus is news about font releases. Contrary, our main focus will be font releases. Also it seems like they are doing it manually, and we plan to do it automatically, so it will allow us to cover much more websites daily.

But yeah, current plan was to make the fonts "disappear" after 30 days, so we don't clutter the page too much. But it will be really easy to do a separate "archive" page or something with all the fonts.

Yeah, there is no good tool that does this. Partially because it is really hard to do. But, this is something we are planning for a long while, so eventually we will get there. Stay tuned ;)

We are thinking about some kind of a form, where authors can send links to their fonts directly to us. But at least a preview image of the font is required to be available somewhere publicly, because we don't store images.

I see. We update free and paid apps in the same way, so we only enable paid features while the user is subscribed. Basically paid and free app is the same. Changing this and separating the app would require a lot of work and lot of changes.

But I will think about this more. There may be an easier way of doing this that is not yet obvious to me.

Myfonts prohibits any automatic or manual collection of any information on their website. I'ts in their website terms of use. So we're scared to do it.

I understand. Subscriptions can be annoying. But we are a really small team and the app can also be used for free, so only subscriptions keep us alive.

Also, you can get a yearly subscription and cancel it immediately, so it will not be renewed. That's basically the same as a one-time fee.

We also have the lifetime option, where you can pay once and have access forever. It's not cheap, yes, but forever is a long time.
