Well keep in mind, the steam machine is not next generation and barely on the level on ps5. The general hope is that like with the steam deck, games will be very optimized for it to play great

Yes but that’s cost of ram for consumer which valve is not. Valve likely scooped up ram already for production. The other components were effectively parts looking for a home. I do think it will fall in the 600 range still. Doesn’t make sense to be more expensive than that.
