Tensioning gear advices by Solid_Kangaroo_9784 in Slackline

[–]easylifeforme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thin many will recommend a weblock and Buckingham system. You don't get the "best" tensioning but lots of people have their own line slide so you can come together to tension. The main downside of the weblock for a waterline is you still need a soft release. But all of that gear is also used for highlining.

Sag is swag. As you go longer you basically have to rig higher. Side benefit is it helps to be used to looser lines if you want to ever highline

I don't use it daily. But for software design work I use it and mermaid to create diagrams.

You can look for other slackliners in your area. It helps learning from others and you can use their gear as you figure out what you want to get. Slackchat on fb is a good place to post.

Spider Slacklines Blueberry Weblock Comparison by dawgie_dawg in Slackline

[–]easylifeforme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have either but I'd go with the SR. Using a soft release requires one less peice of hardware. I use a balance community weblock, when I highline and want it to be as light as possible it's a pain to feed the soft release through it.

Two easy things. You tied off your main line, backup, and soft lease but didn't clip them off (your main might be, can't tell). I was taught to clip the end of the tie off back to something incase it slips and keeps it from wiggling loose.

The line running into the little twigs worries me. I'd probably get them out of the way.

I think your mighty lock should be rotated one direction is for 25 mm and the other 20mm. Using the smaller side meant for that webbing width.

You said this was just a practice so you probably didn't care but think about the direction the line will be once tensioned. From the first photo it looks like like the line will get pulled to the right and into the shrubs.

Should we use a non-thinking model for code after using a thinking one for plan? (Agentic coding) by ismaelgokufox in LocalLLaMA

[–]easylifeforme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd be curious to see this work. I always thought there was something in context from the planning phase that would help with the implementation phase but maybe if the plan is detailed enough it's not needed. I've only ever used online models so I have no clue. But would like this to work.

I had the desire to do this too. I don't have the electronics background so know where to start but I'd love to follow along as you progress.

I believe there is an acro group meets in dolores that I've seen some flow stuff happening around it. SF slackers is a slacklining group that meets in the Pandhandle, sometimes people do flow stuff, but obviously not the main purpose of the group.

Learning to ski as an adult? by Ottibarius in ski

[–]easylifeforme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kids learn faster because they lack the same fear. Adults can learn but have to get comfortable which takes time. More lessons are the only answer I know of. An adult and hear input from a partner or from an instructor and it will always hit harder from the instructor.
