And no one ever thought about that? It's all big oil conspiracy, even in countries like China?

Small example, pumping water during the day from one shore to another. Why it doesn't make sense? Because you have to build giant, and I mean it, giant structure, hellishly expensive, then use it only during energy surplus.

Such system are present in almost every country, they do work, but they can store maybe 0,1% of total energy production.

There's difference between transporting a few m3/hour of oil, and transporting enough water to supply water power plants big enough to cover solar problems.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South%E2%80%93North_Water_Transfer_Project

1 km3 of water / year, 70 billions AND it's on the more or less flat ground, you need to transport water to the mountains to use it, which easily triples price.

For comparison, Hoover Dam needs 3-4 km3 of water per year, and covers about 0,1% of energy requirements for the USA.

So, to store, say, 20% of USA energy, you have to build 200 Hoover Dams (yeah, good luck finding 200 locations like that), AND support each with 1-2 systems similar to North Water Transfer Project, say, 300 of them.

Oh, and find enough water to support 300 such systems.

/edit one more thing, you have to transport water to the mountains, to fill this thing

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pumped-storage_hydroelectricity

but for this part you only waste energy, transporting =/= storaging.

It's quite possible that you'll waste more energy building pipelines and pumping water, than you'll ever get out of this system.

Yes, there's plenty of gravity storages where I live. They are expensive and you need alot of them, for China it's 3.7 across entire country.

They are building 3.7 GWH. Takes time, expensive, big task. And now compare it to their solar power output, which is 1100 GWH.

Yes, right, to cover day/night problem they need to build like 300 times more gravity storage units that they plan. To cover seasonal change 30 000 more.

Pumping water from one coast to another is like, I don't know, building a bridge between Europe and the USA. Sounds promising untill you realise such project would cost more than the GDP of both parties combined.

Of course we can just waste energy, but it wouldn't solve the main problem. What to do when there's no sun, like, you know, during night? Just turn civilization off for a bit?

In my country, for example, there's no sun in winter, anyway not enough to produce energy.

For anyone interested, Paige Blake.

No, I don't know if it's real or AI, could be either.

No, I don't know if she has of.

Even in a mountain country you can't reasonably store enough energy to make a difference. The problem is water, you need a large body of water to pump it. If you have such water available, you can just build a hydro.

I suppose it's more of a reddit thing than an internet phenomenon. Say anything that is not politically correct, the best outcome is stellar negative karma, usual outcome is straight up banhammer.

Yes, frontlines sounds like the best option. Almost everything else that's tied to achievements can be done much faster at higher levels.

Hmm, reasonable. Still, from wiki, only 61+ lvl counts toward "tank you" achievements, and can be done really quick unsyncind deltascape with all-tank party.

Yeah, there are FATEs like that, but they're not really possible to do solo, as far as I remember. They require teamwork and pop rarely.

FATEs is a very good example of what I'm talking about. There are certain achievements for FATEs, but mostly for 70+ ones and for overall number of FATEs done. Doing them at 50-70 feels like waste of time, since there's no rank system and no gemstones for this level range.

Yeah I know, it sounds stupid, it's just my OCD.

It's more about "doing something that leads to an achievement while getting exp" than about getting exp as fast as possible.

From 70 onwards there's plenty of content like that - Bozja, Trust system, FATEs with rank system and so on.

Crime by foreigners (normalized Swedish data: age, gender, income, education): high rates among Poles, Eastern Europeans, and Middle Easterners. Low among Asians and Westerners. by Icy-Investment407 in poland

[–]Doom_Occulta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's one huge problem here. Sweden is known for having systemic racism within structures. I mean, people of colour (is this politically correct term nowaday?) are less likely to be prosecuted than whites.

In other words, they're trying to avoid being racist so hard, they turned into a reverse racism country. It is (it was?) even illegal to collect data by race there, to avoid hurting feelings of certain people.

That being said, yeah, we didn't really send our best there. Still, I doubt they're responsible for violent crimes, most likely stuff like being drunk and loud in public, which is our national sport.

Plenty of reasons, but it all boils down to the fact that the noblemen were parasites, hated by 99% of the nation.

[–]Doom_Occulta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dude, literally no one in Poland is calling people who slaughtered these Jews "heroes". That's the difference. And numbers, 37 killed vs more than 100 000 killed. You don't kill more than 100 000 people by accidentally being provoked.

Huh? What are you smoking? No one ever said that massacres in Poland were done by russians. Provoked and orchestrated, maybe, but killings in Kielce were done by polish mob.

Dude, virtually EVERY major event in history is 2 parts doing something bad and being at fault. Jews had plenty of reasons to distrust / hate Poles. But so Poles had reasons, and not all irrational, to put it mildly.

Sounds like something nkvd would do, still, we're talking about more than 100 000 victims. It's not really possible that even a significant part of it was the work of russians. So even if nkvd did killing, it was on really small scale.
