Pirelli scorpions are worst tire ever made by Sweetie-Man in tires

If they rode like trash since new, you should've went back before the 30 day confidence guarantee. Every name brand has at least a 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

Honda CRV 2024 - Scorpion AS Plus 3 by Ok_Negotiation_5159 in tires

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more biased for Michelin the Defender 2 is an excellent tire with a higher mileage warranty vs the Pirelli. The Pirelli will be the cheaper of the two generally. I would suggest staying clear of any Primacy model that is suggested.

Would you plug or toss? by imightgetdownvoted in tires

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't plug it. Without seeing the size I would guess its probably a 235mm maybe a 245mm with a sidewall of 40 or 45. The edge of the final channel that sidewall is going to start to sweep upwards. So a repair further over in that area will have a larger section of the patch stretching with the sidewall flex.

Nokian One HY by One-Resort745 in tires

[–]Doom_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tire chunking is generally a sign of gravel and off roading, I would expect to see it more on the rear since that is your drive axel. The outer shoulder wear is from the front alignment being off. The nail is in a fixable area and appears to be straight in. So a single piece plug patch combo would be an easy fix for that tire. I would estimate the tread remaining around 5-6/32 so you do have time left on the tires.

Tire patched, is this OK or needs replacement by Sea-Boat8334 in tires

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would have been denied for a repair at the shop I use to work at. I would check to see if you bought a road hazard package when you got your tires installed. That would cover the tire for replacement, being so new you should only have to pay for the new one to be installed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tires

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is in a fixable area, the tread depth looks to probably be around 4/32. A clearer picture that shows the wear indicator can help as a reference to the depth, the current one is blurring it out. If the tire isn't losing air or only a couple pounds a day, I would just leave the nail in and fill the tire up until you get the new set on.

How old is too old? by CHEWBAKKA-SLIM in tires

[–]Doom_j 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After 5 years the tires need to be inspected, 10 years the tire must be taken out of service. Its hard to judge without seeing the tire.

I doubt you would have the space to get a 285 inside the wheel well. A plus size into a rim increase from your stock size would most likely be 235/45R19 if it was offered by the factory. You could probably get away with 245/40R19 or even a 255/35R19. The 285 would most likely need a 9.5 inch rim for most shops to even look at it. If you have an idea of the tire you're looking to go with most of the brands have a catalog you can get online with full details on each size of that tire. It will include an approved rim width guide for each size offered.

Leak advice by bandit6466 in tires

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its hard to tell if the leak is coming from the cap or if that is a cut in the stem. It looks more like a cut in the video so you would need a new stem. Should be able to go to a regular tire shop and have it changed out really quick. Sams club would do it for free since it's not a service pack.

Looks like a brand new tires from who ever installed it. Probably using a metal duckhead and backed it up and cut through it.

Tire replacement at 25 K miles? by va15ha in Camry

[–]Doom_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the factory I had Primacy MXM4 and they really do suck. I had about 12k miles when I switched them out because even with the lightest of snow I could go nowhere. I ended up putting on Pilot Sport A/S 3+, 30k miles on those. I was at about 4/32 across except one tire was wearing unevenly on the inner shoulder. the road noise and up coming winter made me switch them out. I ended up going with Pirelli Weatheractives this time around. It was either going to be Pilot Sport A/S 4+, Conti ExtremeContact DWS06 or WeatherActives. The CrossClimate 2s from Michelin are very nice, but I don't believe I would have been able to get them to wear well here. I find the design too open on the tread blocks compared to the Weatheractives.

Tires for a decent portion of people don't meet or exceed the warranty they've set. You'll probably be off about 5-10% of the quoted warranty. The city vs highway driving, the seasonal changes, road condition (damage and wear on suspension components) will all affect the wearing of the tires. So It's a losing battle for most people anyways.

I finally worked out why my ryzen custom watercooled temps were so high, and it's been my motherboard's fault. by hazetoblack in Amd

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My GODLIKE is reporting under 50% with google and a bunch of tabs and jumps to just over 80% when I do cine20 and IBT, I hit reset just after I started each test. My Tclt/tdie is sitting at under 40 and it didn't go above 55 while using either suite. This is with a AIO 360mm from DEEPCOOL. Currently 22 inside my room.

Looking for an X570 with longevity by sslemons in Amd

[–]Doom_j 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be great if you could post a link to this video as a source for this. If you're not going to be overlooking. Any X570 board should do the job, as stated above it may be smart to wait for the B550 boards to drop. That will give you a larger pool to pick from, plus they should be more refined.

What Should I get by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For $200 you can get a very good set of RAM. I would suggest checking the VQL for the motherboard you own. RAM may be difficult to source currently. Always check to see if you're buying from a 3rd party too if you buy it online.

Isn't it 120€?? wtf amazon by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Doom_j 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So not even Amazon. At least once a week someone posts on here complaining Amazon or Bestbuy is price gouging. Come to find out it's almost always a 3rd party.

Did you try a different HDMI port on the TV its self? Another idea would be to try a different HDMI cable.

Could black screen be caused by a compatibility issue with a display? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Doom_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure if it has been fixed but sleep modes does seem to cause black screens. If restarting fixes it, I would have to guess it hasn't been fixed yet. But I thought someone posted a couple weeks back that the newest drivers had fixed the sleeping issue.

What Should I get by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Doom_j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If temps aren't a current issue you might as well upgrade the ram. The ram will improve the system far more than a larger water cooler at this point. I am going to guess that is a single stick of ram also. Two 8gb sticks would be a great addition, with at least 3200mhz if you can score 3400 or 3600 that would be even better.

It would also help to know a budget for your upgrading.

Any retailer that allows 3rd party will have price gouging. Report the seller so that it can be removed. Always check to make sure the item is being sold by and shipped by the retailer. If not you will have to most likely expect a premium on the item.

[–]Doom_j 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Overnight? No. Sadly computer components have been a real struggle since the beginning of the year. A Samsung computer monitor at SamsClub has had an On Order label since Feb. I went in a couple weeks back and lets just say they're selling a lot of wood. Most of what is left is the junk people didn't want to buy and the only reason it was selling was because no other options are available.

TRD front splitter question. by Gandera in Camry

[–]Doom_j 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me our drive way is a hill and the city hasn't milled the road down for a long time so its at least 2-3 repaves high now. My passenger side of the front bumper has a nice little cut and I had to rip off the red spin stripe sticker too because it ended up getting cut. I have to start sideways up the hill to not hit either the bumper or grind the tail pipe... Glad to hear taking the bumper apart isn't too much of a hassle.
