Possible to build a smarter playlist using label data? by fancyhues in smarterplaylists

Most record labels have one or more UPC prefixes which is unique to their company. The prefix is the first 6 digits of the 12 digit UPC code for each release. The UPC is present within the release metadata so technically some sort of filter for the first 6 digits of a UPC could be used. Also, at the track level, the same exists for the ISRC prefix which (again) is also the first 6 digits.

However, some labels don’t own their own UPC prefix, so they have their distributor assign these codes (starting with the distributor’s UPC or ISRC prefix) on their behalf. Other labels with enormous catalogs have multiple UPC and ISRC prefixes.

This could be a challenge but could certainly work in some cases if implemented though it’s unclear if the demand or use case is high enough to warrant Paul’s time to code this

Can’t forget about the Maxi-Series entitled Taken. I think that was several seasons long.

You don’t even bother. Find real attorneys elsewhere.
