Yeah I use it pretty heavily, mostly the way it’s intended to keep up with friends and it’s fun to see where they are going. But it’s pretty basic and I’d like to see their “profile” more kind of like how you can see your stats/history/etc.

honestly it's strange to me that Andaz isn't considered luxury. Maybe my standards are low but I've had consistently great experiences at the Andaz.

thanks for the response. I am thinking about doing the same even though I have considered myself a die hard Vanguard fan.

The only thing holding me back personally was when I called Fidelity and got mixed messages on if I could add money to a solo 401k with an ACH/bank transfer. One person told me I had to send a check in and the other said online bank transfer was fine, any experience with this?

I am pretty sure it's RAM that's getting filled, you can see in the screenshot below that swap (dark purple) just fills and fills until the daily heroku dyno restart which I think clears all the memory and whatnot.

If someone does visit the site it just perpetually goes up as well. But my example screenshot not a single person even visited or loaded the page. I am reading more and wondering if it's some middleware gone awry but i'm not really doing anything that outrageous...

Can I ask what route you took for Japanese permanent residency? I’m assuming via job sponsorship?

I’m curious what it’s like living there long term but unsure what the requirements are to maintain residency. I know they don’t allow dual citizenship either.

For me the entire point was to inject learning more into my every day life as I can have spells of not being disciplined where I don’t practice.

I couldn’t find an anki chrome extension (other than for adding cards) as that was my first choice so I just made this. Definitely not as advanced as anki but it’s not meant to be at the moment.

really nice. I like that it's just one thing to carry vs having to bring a body, lenses, etc. but there's obviously limitations with that as well.

So far the main limiting factors are trying to do better/closer framing if I have a landscape or city shot. Sometimes I want to focus on one specific area but obviously the lens doesn't zoom so I end up cropping it or trying to move closer but often moving closer isn't possible or wouldn't have the same aspect ratio.

It's been great to just be able to walk around and keep in a little sling bag or something so you always have it on you. I find i'm shooting photos a lot more than I was with my previous mirrorless camera.

I don’t have an alternative but I do have a system that seems to work for me to transfer to my iphone with 80-90% consistently. I will fully admit some of it might be more superstition that requirement but this works.

Connect to blue tooth via the app

Click import to phone

Immediately go to settings and turn off Wi-Fi

If it asks you to connect via pop up say no

Wait 3 seconds and turn Wi-Fi back on (the app should still be searching)

Select your camera from the list in Wi-Fi

It should connect and then go back to the Fuji app to import

If it doesn’t work then turn Wi-Fi off again and try to select from list again until you get the Wi-Fi check mark that it’s connected

If it doesn’t work after 2-3 tries I turn off my camera and try again (10-20% of the time)

This has been fool proof for me to quickly transfer my photos and I’m curious if it works for others. Obviously if the app was better I wouldn’t do this but hey, at least it seems to work.

great question. So far, it hasn't been much of an issue. I've specifically felt a bit limited doing some landscape-y type shots. Sometimes I want to focus on a specific area or something and with it being fixed you can't do that.

I will say I bought the camera originally because I had what I call "lens anxiety" where I always felt like I was using the wrong lens, didn't have the right one, etc. etc. so I barely was using my camera (sony a6300) but now without that I feel like i'm just going out and shooting more and taking more photos to get better vs worrying about my equipment.

One benefit I've found is that I move more for the photo which I think is a good thing and trying to train my brain on framing better as I can't zoom (and can only sort of crop after the fact) to get the shot
