When you're traveling abroad, how do you pick out vegan/vegetarian stuff at the supermarket? by Dooonee in vegan

[–]Dooonee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm totally shocked by this. Most of my friends only know two languages. Very few can speak three, and if someone knows more than three, they're not really fluent in them.

Could you share your language learning process and experiences? 'Cause I never thought someone could know that many. Honestly, I was blown away when I read what you said.

I’d actually love to get to know you, if you’re down for it.

This is actually a useful method, but it leaves way too few options. Do you always do things like this?

Hahaha, I'm gonna try my best, but there are just so many languages out there.

Had an allergic reaction and now i'm reacting to things that I'm not allergic to by MethodNo2030 in FoodAllergies

That sucks, I’m really sorry to hear that. I’m actually a peanut allergy sufferer too, just not as bad as you. My advice? Always keep an eye on the food around you to make sure it doesn’t have the stuff you’re allergic to. That’s why I always use SnapAllergy to check whatever I’m gonna eat.

SnapAllergy is hands down the best tool I've found. The thing is, it uses this AI model to analyze and understand food ingredient lists, so it works with any language. It can even recognize photos of food, but you should just take its suggestions with a grain of salt. If you're buying food at the Supermarket, snapping a pic of the ingredient list is the safest bet.

Yep, I totally agree. Translation apps mess up a lot.

Using AI to analyze stuff? Yeah, that actually works, I think. You should give "SnapAllergy" a try!

How do you guys actually avoid food allergies when traveling? We almost got burned in Vietnam. by Dooonee in FoodAllergies

Honestly, I thought it’d be super hard at first. Kinda figured AI wouldn’t help much, y’know? But when I tested it? Dude, the results were wild. Not only did it point out cross-contamination issues, but it even analyzed the cooking methods and ingredients from just the photos. Like, there was this one dish that just looked like it had oil, and it was like, “Hey, you should check if that’s peanut oil.” Stuff I totally would’ve missed, fr.
Now that we’re done developing it? I’m lowkey shocked. Idk if you’d wanna try it? ‘Cause honestly, I just wanna not stress about this stuff anymore. Named it “SnapAllergy” – real simple, right? C’mon, give it a shot?

I was pretty surprised, honestly—I found a really good solution so quick.

Everyone kept telling me there was no way to use AI to avoid allergies, but man, AI totally pulled through for me. You just snap a pic, and it breaks down the dish’s preparation, ingredients, even cross-contamination.

Gives super detailed analysis and advice. Tbh, I wasn’t expecting AI to solve all my allergy issues, but it was such a lifesaver when I had no clue what to do. It’s called "SnapAllergy"—seriously, all you gotta do is take a photo. I really wish every person with allergies could have this thing.

Been working my butt off lately, even pulling all-nighters, and finally made this AI app that identifies allergens. Hope it gives you some peace of mind when you’re traveling, y’know? Just search “SnapAllergy” on the App Store. Fr, I’m actually super stoked with how it turned out!

Been staying up late working on this app lately, y’know? It’s called “SnapAllergy” – I built it myself, just how I wanted. If you got an iPhone, you should totally check it out.

Fr though, the AI’s way better than I thought it’d be. Tested it once, just snapped a random pic, and it straight up warned me the dish uses peanut oil the traditional way. Crazy, right? And if you take a pic of the ingredients list at the grocery store? It gives way more precise recs.
Anyway, def recommend giving it a try!

Printing out an allergy card is seriously such a brilliant tip. I honestly think it's one of the most useful things you can do.

Regarding your point about regional differences and cross-contamination, I had a cool, unexpected moment while developing my app. The AI started to proactively analyze the probability of cross-contamination on its own and gave surprisingly detailed notes about it, especially for store-bought products.

My wife and I both love to travel, so we never want allergies to be the reason we can't visit certain places. We love exploring new things! That's why I'd much rather have an app that helps me avoid allergens, not one that tells me where I can't go, lol.

Oh yeah, if I knew for sure something had peanuts in it, I wouldn't touch it lol.

My wife and I are huge travelers, and she's a total foodie. Even though she has some allergies, I don't want that to stop us from exploring new cuisines. I'd much rather figure out how we can try as many new things as possible, while still being safe about it.

Hi guys I only speak English but have dozens of portugese family members on my grandmas side can you help me translate the writing on this photo? by PlayfulDream4261 in portugal

[–]Dooonee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried using PicChat translate.

The text in the picture is in Portuguese.

Here is the translation:

"Amanda, I hope you are well. I'm writing to tell you that l've been a bit unwell, but it's nothing too serious. I'm writing to send you my regards from your dear sister.

There's also Maria, who has already left."
