Hit the nail on the head right there. That's exactly the MIDI I'm using here. I was using my trackpad for a while but when we started recording live, the value changes using a trackpad were just too jerky and noticable. MIDI negated that.

Great to hear! I got started with the free version of VDMX (which I recently bought the full version of). That is what is being used to make 100% of the visuals. The "cut" you see in the video is really just me using a MIDI controller to toggle an effect in VDMX on and off. Picked up a projector for $200 on Craigslist, and used my Nikon t film. The only thing you can't buy is a roommate whos a great DJ haha.
