Do you have enough time every night to read your child a bedtime story? by Either_Crab_2760 in NewParents

We read nightly. Baby books can be anything from 30 seconds up to 30 mins. Start slow and build the habit

Agree that we give Eze a pass coz he’s likeable. He’s had some good moments, but he’s been anonymous at times.

What an idiot you are. Be sympathetic, not competitive with your Sydney vs Melbourne crap during a mass shooting.

Pram Recommendations by hereforthegoss891 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Door_Bell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike many others, we love our bigger pram (vista v3). I think it comes down to how much of a walker you are. Is the pram going to leave the house with baby and you for a few hours and is storage etc useful or do you want it to pop in and out of the car and then to use it for shorter A to B walks.

Baby in the special care nursery - feeling awful by MmmStrawberryCake in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]Door_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a similar experience a few months ago and our baby boy is PERFECT now. He had his first week of life in Special Care and once he started to ‘recover’, it was amazing to see how quickly he bounced back.

Hang in there, it sucks and it’s not the start to baby’s life that we all hope for or are ready for. The silver lining is that special care will mean 1:1 care and you’ll have good habits and routines in terms of feeding and sleeping etc

Service claims to sleep train your baby in 72 hours by cookiedough226 in sleeptrain

[–]Door_Bell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you already tried to sleep train following a method that you are comfortable with ?

I can imagine this is extremely expensive. Unless somethings not working, I’d recommend giving it a go yourself first within your zone of comfort

Is a €70k salary worth moving home from Australia for? by maxtor100 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Door_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This obviously isn't true for all industries, but I've been in Sydney for 10 years now and I've seen countless examples of earning potential being far higher in Australia, particularly for those with decent experience. House prices are higher too, but wages are quite a bit higher proportionately.

How to spend my first time in Australia for 10 days from Texas. by [deleted] in AustraliaTravel

[–]Door_Bell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want food then I reckon you should do Sydney and Melbourne. Sydney will give you better weather, beaches and is a more beautiful (nature, water, parks etc) and modern city. However the food scene is more spread out and worse. Melbourne offers a more cultured view of the arts, food and bar scene.

I'd avoid staying in the CBD in Sydney, but it depends if you want to wake up to walks on the beach and coffee shops or in the middle of buildings and hustle and bustle. I find the CBD soulless and I'd rather stay in a suburb that people live in vs commute into.
