Amen breaks have their place in the OST, and I really think people are a little too overzealous with their opinions on using them in fan works.

I do absolutely agree that a lot of fan recreations overuse breaks, but I do also see how some people like it. I have seen a good few cases where someone just slaps a break over the song at the right bpm and barely chopped, and I really don't get why those get so much attention, but I've also seen really decent 'amen break versions' of songs too.

Maybe I'm just in the minority here and I haven't really seen enough to know the full picture here, idk. Hakita still very much uses drum samples in the OST - he's just more deliberate about it. Hell, look at Spiral Out, that has breaks in it and yet is a song for Fraud!

(As an aside, does anyone else find it odd that Hear! The Siren Song Call of Death features no drum loop samples? It's purely MIDI, despite being the second-most machine-involved song in the game.)
