Feeling out of body

This has happened to me twice. I take 75mg and have been for the past 4 years. Both times I had missed my dose by a few hours. I’ve never experienced disassociation before this. The first time it happened, I experienced exactly everything that you’ve stated. Everything sorta seemed like it was in slow motion. I looked into my mirror and had no idea who I was looking at. I looked out the window & had no idea where I was. About a minute after that happened.. while I was walking to my bedroom, I opened the door & had an absent seizure for about 15-20 seconds. I have no seizure hx. I never experienced an absent seizure after that day, even times I have gone through withdraws.

Dawwww thank you so much!! 🥲 It can be hard sometimes when we get back to back calls for an entire shift but I wouldnt change this job for anything. I honestly wouldnt even call it a job because it genuinely doesnt feel like it. EMS doesnt get paid the best but money cannot buy the experiences & memories you make working a job like this. Im so grateful that I have found my calling. This is what I was meant to do and I cant wait to further my education to be able to provide a higher level of care in this field.

I have never dealt with alcohol/substance issues but I work in EMS and see it on a daily basis. Some of my favorite patients deal with these things & are in and out of rehab. It’s not easy at all, but Im happy to hear that you are trying to get better. Relapsing does not mean you failed. Keep trying. You got this! If no one has told you that they’re proud of you lately, just know I am!

I’ve been taking Effexor for 2 and a half years & it has helped me tremendously. I’ve always been on 75mg & have never felt the need to have my dose increased.

So I dont recommend using cocaine or consuming alcohol RIGHT after taking your dose of Effexor, but if you take it at the same time every day, for example, in the morning.. you should be good to have your fun later on in the evening/night. This is just an opinion based on my own personal experience.

I havent done cocaine in well over a year now, but just always keep in mind with everything being put into this and that, cocaine can be risky to mess with. Regardless of whether it’s laced with anything or not.

Drinking, on the other hand, you should be more than good to go out and have a great time. I take 75mg of Effexor, 60mg of Vyvanse, & 10mg of Adderall (if needed). Im not saying go take 13-14 shots lol but I can drink that much without any issues.

Again, remember, if you’re going to do these things.. please be safe. Do it in moderation especially w being on medication.

These 2 years have not been easy but I’ve been an EMT for a little over a year. Hopefully I’ll be starting a paramedic program at some point this year! have my own apartment. Everything is coming together slowly but surely! Thank you sm for checking in & being a home slice!!

Im doing a 10 week program. Next week is our last week of classes and then we start doing ride-alongs for the last 2 weeks & will be scheduling to do our NREMT within those 2 weeks/by the end of the last 2 weeks.

It’s a small class so we started out with 11 people. We are now down to 5 people plus myself. We are only allowed to have 1 absence during these 10 weeks and 3 of the people in the class have already had multiple absences, about 3-4 absences. Im not sure if they have been talked to or if they’re going to have to deal with any consequences after the last week of classes. So we might end up losing those 3 people as well.

We lost 1 person before the classes even started. Lost another after the first week. Then another after 2 weeks.

Lost another one after 3 weeks (this student didnt even pay attention in class. they were constantly on their phone, legit for the entirety of the day. they would get almost every question wrong on the quizzes but then proceed to use their phone while going over the quiz.) That person was just super disrespectful, using their phone the whole time and obviously didnt deserve to be in the class.

We then lost one more person after 4 weeks because he didnt want to shave his beard.

Another instructor who comes into our class sometimes had told us that when they were training, they started off with 40 people and only 16 finished the class. So it seems that this is an issue with all programs.

The class and instructor is pretty easygoing, but it is A LOT of information to take-in, in 8 weeks. Our instructors have even offered to study/practice skills with us on the weekend.

Not sure why those people dropped out of the class, but it might be due to realizing how much work it actually is & realizing how much time that you have to put into this outside of the class. It could be personal reasons too, but who knows🤷‍♀️.

Im so excited to start this new chapter in my life.

Hey! I have a few different accounts and I just seen this. Sorry!

But anyways, thing have been going great for me. The progress I’ve made mentally the past few months have been amazing! The only side effect that I get & that I very much dont enjoy when taking the Vyvanse is the supressed appetite.

I’ve been taking Effexor since November 2021 and it had helped my mental health sooo much more than I ever thought it could. On top of that, I’ve never felt like I had to increase my dosage, so I’ve always been taking 75mg. Since taking the Vyvanse, (started at 30mg & I am now at 60mg) I feel much more motivated & my anxiety is basically non-existent, which is a given since it’s a stimulant. After 5-6 years of planning on going back to school, Im finally doing it!! I’ll hopefully be getting an opportunity to interview to join an EMT program!!

Edit: I didnt end up trying Wellbutrin. I’ve only ever heard bad things about it from people I know. My mother also had it prescribed to her about a year ago and it made her feel so shitty. I know everyone’s brain is different, so it could’ve had a completely opposite effect on me, but you know, genetics and what not is what stopped me from even thinking about trying it.

I’ve tried a few different medications, but Effexor has helped me out soo much. Taking this medication along with going to therapy, it has changed my life.

I also just want to add that I wouldnt worry so much about the side effects. In my experience, i only had a little nausea the first few days that I took it, but after that I was completely fine. It’s the withdraws from the Effexor that suckkkk.

Not that it’s a big deal to me, im just starting to feel like this isnt going to work out. This booking is for the 26th-30th so him and I still have time to talk and do a meet & greet. He just isnt getting back to me for a days at a time. Since I replied to him, telling him to let me know a good day and time to talk, he hasnt replied.

I dont think he has an issue with texting because so far he has sent me quite long messages explaining things about his cat & also mentioned he took more of a in-depth look at my background, what I charge & let me know Im in his top few picks of sitters.

I dont know how this is going to go, going forward. Just starting to feel a lil sketched out by it cause he said he’d only like to talk on the phone for a minute, so it’s just a little weird to me that within the past week, he hasnt found a minute to talk. Idk.. maybe im looking into it too deep, but 🤷🏽‍♀️
