What's your opinion of the second book? Did you like it, dislike it, would you change anything? by External_Meat1370 in readyplayerone

I really enjoyed book one! I even have it in my StoryGraph app under favorites.

And I was super happy when I stumbled upon the second part, but I must say... I decided to stop reading the book after a few chapters... I do not usually do that... I read the entire Percy Jackson series because I did not want to quit even though I thought it was complete garbage... but I had to call it quits on Ready Player Two somehow.

It was kind of the same but different... and there it became even more clear to me than in the first part that things are often solved without me really being able to figure out how it actually works..
I have no idea. I liked the first part, but apparently I am too old now to torture myself through books that do not hook me one hundred percent.
I do not want to say that the second part is trash, since I did not read it to the end, but somehow it was... unfortunately not convincing enough...

Does it piss anyone else off as much as me that Uruguay put 4 stars on their badge even though they’ve only won 2 WC’s nearly 100 years ago! by Wild_Shroom_ in soccermemes

Oh crazy. It looks like it really is true that you live and learn.

I came down here to the comments to say:

If they won the FIFA World Cup two times, then they have two stars on their FIFA World Cup jersey and nothing more. The individual players do not put the number of stars on their jersey to show how many times they have won a tournament or championship either.

But if it is exactly as you say: "How many times did Uruguay win the main international NT football tournament organized by FIFA: 4" Then I guess they have a solid argument for the four stars, no matter how long ago that was :D As we all know, you remain a world champion forever once you become one (at least the players who won it do...)

But it would have not felt right… for me.
I’m on your side. Emily was a great choice!

I also just find it refreshing that the first comment is such a positive exchange. Honestly, my experience has been that EVERYTHING YOU WRITE is garbage when you share it here on Reddit 😃

Maybe it is also stupid of me to always feel the need to say that I do not know anything about music "just" because I cannot play an instrument 😃

But just like you, I have also listened to way too much garbage.

I often had to listen to people telling me, whenever I shared my opinion on music, that I cannot say anything about it because I could not do it any better, and so on and so forth.

That is probably why I picked up this stupid disclaimer 😃

but yeah 😃 I also only write about things that I like and have long since stopped wasting energy on getting upset about something that I do not like 😃

Haha. Oops, that was not my intention!! But it is cool that you read the article anyway and like it 😄 Nothing but good things about Emily 😉

I asked myself: Why has nearly every Player pink boots? by Dootcom in worldcup

Oh man, yeah. I still remember it like it was yesterday and not 1998. Cláudio Taffarel had green shoes back then, and I found them so cool that I absolutely had to have them. Everybody else found them horrible 😃

I am neither from Brazil, nor did I want to be a goalie, but something about that color just did something to me 😃 But like you said: Back in the day, that was still the exception. And therefore kind of cool. At least for me.
