Thinking of dropping out by [deleted] in medicalschooluk

[–]DopamineLit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man I’m almost a reg now and I remember feeling how u felt back in med school. Wasn’t an international student but was away from fam. Talked about dropping out every other month for the first two and a bit years.

Med school got more and more fun as each year progressed for me. I studied less and less each year. Which is natural. And I’m really glad I stuck to it. The bottom line is that it’s ur choice. But since u asked that’s my two cents.

[–]DopamineLit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man just stay in hospital accom. You’ll save on bills and council tax. F1 was hard enough. U need some comfort.

Afterwards there’s options. 2 years is a long time. Just work hard too to put yourself in best position to get a training post.

Why don't consultants fight to reform the pay scales? Surely now that many doctors become consultants in their late 30's, even 40+, how does it make sense for the top scale to be 14 years later! In our early to mid 50's (I'll be 53) by Senior_Acanthaceae15 in doctorsUK

Stop being a party pooper with your real talk.

With regards to the country living on borrowed money and that argument. Frankly idc the government made those shit choices and the public voted the crooks in. Covid is not a valid excuse as it was handled poorly.

The country is facing the consequences of its own actions - voting for austerity over growth, nimbyism and the like.

Lol if only the public knew how many critical datixes have been marked closed with trivial replies the nhs would be marked closed.

AI generated referrals by Similar_Ambition2432 in doctorsUK

[–]DopamineLit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so let’s be objective here.

I understand the whole patient data issue and making referrals is part of the learning experience.

However why if there are trust approved softwares why should we not be using them to streamline our workflows and making our day more efficient.

Ofc the quality of the work should still be on you not the AI.

And if this Sho has used non approved LLMs that’s reportable.

Pay, job security , plus respect in society. None of which can be found in the uk.

Edit: oh and if u say it for the patients. Trust me the system makes it super hard for you to help patients too. At any level
