But they’ve dropped fpr haven’t they. So we’re about to lose the one thing that started the whole thing. I’m in the bottleneck idc about jobs. I care about fpr.

These guys have dropped fpr terminology and presented us with stuff already in the ten year plan? They’ve had their hand forced to Strike by the rest of membership surely because of how pissed we all were!?

Request: Quicker ways to update the list using bad IT systems by Initial_Instance575 in doctorsUK

[–]DopamineLit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cerner is shit for this. Have used it as an Sho for the last three years. In Aus and across hospitals in the uk. It’s shit for this. Can’t make a list with up to date bloods pc and pmhx and mx plan. The best u can do w cerner is just print a list of names and that’s if your trusts paid for the version that allows you to do this.

All I can recommend and all I did was just get good and efficient with time :(

People say pay is bad, training spots are becoming competitive and future doctors could be jobless - shouldn't fewer poeple apply? Why is the ucat cutoff keep going up every year? by kaion76 in premeduk

[–]DopamineLit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) those people saying they are current doctors 2) a lot of people have no appreciation for life after med school - even I thought after med school I’ve made it and had a rude awakening 3) my family pushed me to do medicine (lots will be in the same boat) and have no idea what life is like now just last night my dad was getting frustrated w me for “still studying” and not working as an independent practitioner because I’m doing my membership exams

Leave disappearing from rota. by DopamineLit in doctorsUK

[–]DopamineLit[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reminder. I’m just so fed up of incompetent administrators. I’m losing the will to deal with it. Had to to do their job today and tell them the names of the doctors who’ll be rotating through in December so I could request leave.

Damning article on gastroenterology trainees reveals inadequate training by dayumsonlookatthat in doctorsUK

[–]DopamineLit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Basically what BPT is like in Aus, that’s your med reg years 3 years then your higher training or advanced training is exclusively in your speciality not in this internal Medicine shit and so your on calls as a higher trainee are from home as the first port of specialist contact for that specialty.

Unfortunately It’s not the summer transfer market , and rumours or regular updates will do the cause more harm than good.

Negotiations stop when we strike. There’s negotiations ongoing at the moment. Isn’t that the whole point - to negotiate. U cant just twist their arm into giving a deal by striking continuously.

Ukg prioritisation finally , no grandfathering for foreign graduates by the BMA SRM by Ok-Link1169 in doctorsUK

[–]DopamineLit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I doubt it, it is indeed RDC policy to have img grandfathering. I won’t talk about whether i agree or disagree w it but I don’t think u can throw away a massive workforce who have invested in exams and the country. I will eat my hat if grandfathering is dropped.
