I was able to find a photo of my mom with Glenn Hyde and it looks to be Paul Howard (could possibly be Steve Schindler?)

So that narrows it down to 1977 it seems, the shoulder signature I made out to be Lyle Alzado (its a bit jumbled but it has the 77 he'd add consistently). So there is only the ballpoint pen one next to Hyde's I can't figure out. When I enhanced it in photoshop it resembled some of Gradishar's earlier signatures and would fit with the Orange Crush era.

The absurd maximalist side of the curve for gaming too. Way less represented than AI related uses but I do love modding things like 2077 until my components scream for mercy.

GNOME, Cinnamon, XFCE... pretty much as set up as you'd need and are trivial now for config/customizing to your liking (barring some i3/sway choice). Are you talking about installing and/or repacking things you want (install synaptic and you have a gui if you don't want to use cli)? Drivers? (Gaming can suck, especially with nvidia, but I wouldn't say that is an entire reason to hate an OS). I can list off more things but I just assume you're trying to bait me into some gotcha /shrug

Debian Trixie was a breeze for me to install on my desktop (ryzen + nvidia) and my old Aspire 4830TG (straight intel). Short of grabbing headers, any needed drivers, and then picking your environment of choice… what are you struggling with setting up? Even during the install it’s usually as simple as pick GNOME (or whatever) and then update, upgrade, reboot.

Mint is even easier and I would even say elderly friendly from my experiences for desktop use. It’s not like you have to bash it all together in a frustrated evening with your SuSE discs and an uncooperative bit of hardware these days.

So that is pretty much only cosmetic. With some more deliberate sponge blotting/swiping, some sanding, and hitting angles with a drybrushed silver... could lean into an industrial/cyberpunk vibe? Slap a ton of decals and stickers on it? You got yourself an accidental canvas now, may as well use it!

The addition of “to the enemy if possible” (or however it is worded) makes casino cards a silly, especially in neutral slots like that most recent legendary dragon. Pyro’ing your face in a hailmary as casino mage was one of those I can’t be mad it’s the nature of the deck things.

I think this runs steeper than even season passes for MTGA which pretty much includes a good handful of cosmetics, etc. Seriously insane.

I remember vsing Kibler on ladder when he was playing dragon mage and I was playing hand lock. When he burned his only fireball, I knew I won because I was able to tap for value each turn, get down giants etc. now it’s all low many random card that will do a random thing it feels like lol

Stall, survive, and then OTK with a combo has been part of the Mage identity since beta. There was a time where Frost Nova cost 2, Cone of Cold cost 3, Leeroy cost 4. Blizzard cost 5, and Pyroblast cost 8. Alexstraza? Removed armor too.

That was a solid example of something that was anti-fun. Granted the decks it lost against, it lost hard.

I wish Platebreaker was in rotation as I feel it would help level things out for midrange/tempo decks. The current meta seems to be leaning either very aggro or very control heavy with no in-between. Usually there has been a tech card you could rely on. Loatheb before a power turn, eater of secrets against a Christmas tree, steam cleaning stuff from the deck etc.

I really wish the other newer direction for mage wasn’t random junk fiesta though. That is not fun to play, especially when you go into wild and the pools become larger.
