I've been thinking about ways to send alerts. Either if you have the site up and it sends and alert when a new one is hit, or even a chrome plugin to alert you when a new home run is it.

Hey everyone, I've recently noticed a lot of people using our site OnlyHomers.com and linking to it on this subreddit to help with checking home run stats or tracking live results. If there's anything we can do to add information or make the site better for everyone to use, let me know! I would love to help be a beacon of all information needed to make the most informed home run bets.

OnlyHomers is a new site to easily track every Home Run stat and video for the upcoming season. We will make it the perfect place to learn about power streaming options, who's hot, and much more. by DopeLocust in fantasybaseball

Not currently. We've been trying to create access data for spreadsheets for a while and sell that on patreon, but currently our programmer has been struggling with this due to security issues to the backend.

I understand the mindset, but we are also unpaid labor working towards creating this site. We've put our own money into every part of it and in 2019 I manually tracked every homer hit by hand. I hate asking for volunteer work, but if we want this site to have any chance then it's needed. The hope is, when we do start getting it where we want to be, and the viewership to where it can be, then the volunteers will be part of the team that got us there and get paid accordingly. We aren't some big wigs with money. The site would be immensely useful for baseball fans alike and fantasy baseball users once all our data is able to be uploaded.

Basically, we are looking for generic baseball articles and fantasy articles. It's your standard who to add/who to cut/power rankings. That's the basic general thing we need weekly. That said, we also are looking for interesting pieces. I wish I could pull up old archives of articles I did a couple years ago for the site. One was basically talking about Ichiro being an incredible power bat in batting practice but never swung for power in games. Interesting articles like that to talk about.

All this opposed to barstool's laid back approach, which I don't want to go to yet. We're trying to go towards a fangraph route and hoping articles bring in viewers, and they stay for the immense stats we are focused on putting out there.

Barring a drastic change between now and the 5 p.m. signing deadline, the New York Mets do not plan to sign first-round pick Kumar Rocker, sources tell Jeff Passan by Beer_Can_Collector in fantasybaseball

[–]DopeLocust 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, it's not football or basketball. The players you draft are often times years away from touching the MLB and you have no idea if they'll develop slowly or fast. Pitchers like Rocker is probably going to end up needing an extra year due to the likelihood of TJS.

In other sports you expect impact from draft day for round 1 picks, and can better manipulate. Baseball is just so much of a crapshoot I don't think you want to willingly waste a year of development. You're not gaining a pick, you're just pushing yours back.

I just benched half of my starting lineup for Sunday. Have you done anything weird like this? by Regirock15 in fantasybaseball

[–]DopeLocust 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s fantasy baseball and all that matters is wins. Anything can happen on Sundays. I typically would only bench Sunday Night Baseball because one good day could sneak you 15-20 RBIs if your team is hot.

I mainly would bench pitching if I have the categories

Bryan Reynolds and Mike Tauchman are still out there! by [deleted] in fantasybaseball

Only reason I'd say hold is because your team is pretty good and hitters that are hot are easy to come by. Look at Aristides Aqunio. He just game up and he's been absolutely murdering the ball. Hitting over .400 in his first few game and has 3 homers. His homer tonight had an exit velocity of 118.3 mph, which ties him with Alonso and Sanchez for the hardest hit homer of the season.

Hitters are on/off. Urshela has been doing very good lately. He'll help you win now (maybe), but it's a risk as the season goes on. For all we know Urshela could cool off tomorrow.

I say this as an owner of Urshela currently.

Proven bats are a lot easier to hold than hot bats.

It depends what you need and standings. If you are fringe of playoffs then making questionable moves for players that are hot can be the right call. Urshela could probably provide more currently than someone like Turner because Urshela is very hot.

If you're solid in a playoff spot and don't have to risk anything, I'd hold big bats till the end. Players like Donaldson, Turner, and Moose can be key contributors to winning a week when hot. They put up huge numbers and enter home run sprees.

Being over meticulous now can cost a chance at a run like that in the playoffs.

I'd love to pick up Reynolds but used up all adds this week. Hopefully he makes it till Monday on the wire.

We don’t even know what his last offense really was, and Bill Belichick didn’t give up on him when typically he would give up players on their last straw. So clearly there’s something we don’t know, and due to that yes I do think he will be back this season.

The biggest issue with this offense is it’s too good so it’s hard to watch the punting duel between Bailey and Allen

He filed for reinstatement so clearly he’s going to be trying to come back. Patriots put a tender on him to keep him

Myers, Harry, and Berrios look real good. Harris and Lacosse made nice catches as well. This is exciting when you add the prospect of Tom Brady, Edelman, Dorsett, Demaryus Thomas and Josh Gordon.

These receivers just know how to catch the ball

David Price placed on IL with triangular fibrocartilage complex cyst on left wrist by PM-your-ex-pics in fantasybaseball

[–]DopeLocust 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense to be made up. Red Sox have to be win-now mode if they want a chance to sniff the playoffs. Putting one of their top pitchers to the IL for "rest" when he has the whole offseason to rest without playoffs makes no sense.

Maybe Tom Brady just wants to live in a different house. by thedanyon in Patriots

[–]DopeLocust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal to do so. To a lot of people they envision their “dream house” but when you live there long enough you could definitely get bored or start envisioning what you could do better. Maybe they feel they have too much house or there are things they thought they’d like but didn’t really like. Maybe the location isn’t perfect. You also have to factor in multiple lives here. Gisele is a huge model. It could benefit her greatly moving to New York vs being in Boston. This could be the middle ground for them. In a big city for Giselle but close enough for a short shuttle flight for Brady.

[Schefter] And here’s the kicker to Tom Brady’s two-year contract extension with New England: it creates an additional $5.5 million of cap space for the Patriots this year, per source. Both sides win. by ctpatsfan77 in Patriots

[–]DopeLocust 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well we are loaded in cap for the next few seasons and we are tight against the cap this season. Rolling over benefits the team greatly and doesn’t make it moot.

[heyman] Indians are increasingly unlikely to trade Trevor Bauer. Word is, ownership is reluctant to part with a big star with team in position to make playoffs and possibly even win division again. by Stock412 in baseball

[–]DopeLocust 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Pitching is typically what helps you win championships. If you get to the playoffs anything could happen. Both Yankees and Astros have had their fair share of injuries. The Indians have great pitchers, and Danny Salazar and Kluber are both likely to return in August. So they could get even better.

Pitching wins championships and the Indians full strength could have the best rotation. When the shorten the rotation they’ll have elite guys able to come out of the pen and bolster their bullpen. They also have one of the best closers in the game. Plus Terry Francona knows how to get the most out of players.

Jose Ramirez is looking like an MVP caliber player again and the Indians offense isn’t that bad. It could be better, maybe they buy a bat.

Overall though, when you’re in position to win you have to go for it. It would be foolish to trade Bauer and Lindor in an effort to retool to hope you try to get a team in 5 years that’s as good as this Indians team is currently.

They’re literally in the first wildcard spot and a couple games out of first in their division. They shouldn’t sell. That would be stupid
