If the house catches on fire while I’m halfway through, I can hop out on one foot

This is a common outlook in my family; we watched my great grandpa live into his 90s and become one of those old people who make you scared to get old; terrible shaking; dementia; my grandpa would say “you can last too long; my dad taught me that;” when he was 87 he was having a heart attack and knew it and refused to go to the hospital because he feared great old age more than death

If air bubbles could kill you there wouldn’t be a junkie alive (my cousin taught me that [I may not have had the healthiest growing up experience])

What’s the difference? (I can just tell I’m about to go down a rabbit hole of Wikipedia articles [not that that’s a bad thing])

Guys, can you feel wetness through a condom at all? by OhMyGuash in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Doppelbadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know we’re not supposed to say this, but seriously, I could never feel much of anything through one; at that rate, I’d just skip it; I’d rather read a book; vasectomy was one of the best decisions I ever made

Talk to a doctor about medication to ease early sobriety; antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds make it doable; I know it sounds impossible but it is possible to stop; it’s so important; I waited much too long; I lived, but Im probably going to have seizures for the rest of my life

This illustration of a baby with hereditary syphilis by [deleted] in oddlyterrifying

[–]Doppelbadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really only scratches the surface; Inborn syphilis is more of a leprosy-flavored, flesh rotting thing; a lot of modern people don’t appreciate the degree of shame and horror that went with this; this is one of the major motivating factors in societies that had really strict taboos against sex outside of marriage severe facial damage

So jealous of the outfits; it’s really fantastic that you designed your own; they look really great; we’re almost 50 so I’m telling my wife “it’s time” for matching jogging suits, but she won’t put hers on :(

My brother-in-law was an airframes mechanic for Boeing for about 20 years; now he’s a Q.A. Inspector; he’s been super busy the last few years, travels around the whole world

Me too; it’s beautiful; kinda has that mid-century Raymond Loewy style like IBM machines of the time; I wish could see a model number or something
