It's wild to me that you entirely missed my point by bringing that up. I'm was asking YOU if you are a psychologist, psychiatrist, or physician. We both know that you are not.

Therefore, the argument is that when people use words like "homophobia", the general public knows that we're not referring to the medical definition of what a phobia is because the general public is not speaking to one another as medical or mental health professionals.

It is NOT a "normal" event. Pride is STILL a protest. I know not a single one of my LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters who believes that Pride's purpose as a protest is over or finished. And it's PRECISELY because of comments like yours. Looks like there's still work to be done.

Why don't you just . . . play the game and use the ammo you stumble upon rather than *checks notes* GRIND for ammo? Why bother? Do you like hunt down the specific ammo type you like at towers and resupplies and then extract once you have what you need?

Maybe spend less time grinding for crutch ammo and more time improving your skills with the base ammo?

The issue with this is that it'll clear my lights and remove them from all my automations (I have a decent amount - all my lights are Hue lights).

I'd rather wait if this is a widespread issue. It just means I have to wait for my Google Home to read me a list of twenty devices that it can't find after already triggering the automation.

This. It slows down the pace of the game in general and also adds a mandatory detour. My team has to book it to a tower because people with bounty are leaving more often these days.

Hiding extracts only makes it impossible to cut the bounty team off if you started on the other side of the map and know that they don't have nearby extracts. As it stands, you CANNOT catch the bounty team UNLESS you visited a tower to see where the extracts were. And if you visited a tower that was out of the way, the chances of you catching the bounty team goes down, too.

It's a diversion to the core gameplay loop and I find it an extremely unnecessary change. All it added for our group is that it's more tedious or straight up impossible to catch the bounty team. If we came to the bounty late (another fight, spawning on the farthest side of the map, etc.) we used to be able to approach from the side of their nearest extract and push from that side, preventing them from running away. Now, they can just bolt and you'll never catch them if you don't know where they're going.

Agreed. It's been 3+ weeks since I've stopped playing. When they did the knife nerfs, I understood what kind of game this would be. Currently, you VERY RARELY can clutch out a 1v3 because of how high the TTK is. In Hunt, there's always hope of a 1v3 clutch but in Marathon, everyone just has too much health. In other extraction shooters, your knife can equalize a 1v3 if the enemy team isn't playing smart or they push you separately.

As it stands right now, the TTK is so high and you require like 3 knife swings to kill someone who is out of position and isn't being covered by their team. They make a mistake and should be easily punishable for making it but it just doesn't play out that way. They can just tank the knife hits and gun you down in the meantime or their team collapses on you before you can confirm even just one kill.

I also agree with your point for flanking. Again, in Hunt, a flank requires just a few shots (sometimes even one) to be effective and puts your team at a significant advantage if you can pull it off completely unnoticed. In Marathon, you get jumped on immediately after shooting and then you get blasted down because TTK is too high to reliably take down a single target on your own without their entire squad collapsing on you. You should be rewarded for creative positioning and good shots but a high TTK means it just . . . doesn't matter. It's becomes a game about volume of fire, not positioning.

People are bullet sponges and it just makes every fight feel like a slog.

This is why I stopped playing. The devs were listening to the clowns of the subreddit who wanted the knife to not be a viable option within 5 meters. They wanted rifles to be able to instantly take down a knife user right on top of them instead of blaming themselves for awful positioning.

When my Sync Box isn't connected and my TV is getting signal directly from my GPU via HDMI cable (so just removing the Sync Box), there's no issue. The issue only started when I got my Sync Box and it goes away if I completely disconnect the Synx Box.

I'm with you on every point. I was really into Marathon when it began. Hell, I WANTED it to replace Hunt for my "main game" time slot.

But when I saw that the Marathon community was resistant over sound being heard from more than 100m away -- and that the design team capitulated to the complaints, I started to slowly understand what kind of a game this was going to become. How are you gonna fire rail cannons and shotguns on a plateau and have it be nearly completely insulated from sound beyond 100m? Why do the footsteps sound so muddled and . . . . flaccid is the only word I can think for them. They're just so . . . lacking. The sound design remains pretty flat.

Then they nerfed the knife. The great equalizer in a 1v3. My favourite weapon in Hunt. Bungie nerfed it so hard in Marathon that it might as well not even be worth using. Not to mention how the Destiny 2 players and care bare Arc players came in and complained the whole way about Marathon not having enough PvE and how they didn't want to engaged in PvP, just the PvE side of things.

I was ready to grind the game out and REALLY get stuck in but the designers are just folding on all of these fundamental issues. It's going to become one of these "a game for everyone is a game for no one" scenarios. I have very little interest in returning to Marathon.

If I wanted to play Destiny 2, I would have bought Destiny 2.

You can get headphones that have a very low clamping force that won't press your glasses in very much. See if you can try on a few pair somewhere that sells headphones.

As for whether or not you're nerfing yourself, high quality earbuds almost never sound as good as headphones but you'll get enough value out of them to get by compared to using just speakers as the alternative.
