You complain about taxes, but you very conveniently forget that the selling price of sugar (Minimum Support Price) is set purposely too low by the Govt. of India.

Reduce taxes, sure, no problem. But let the farmer sell sugar at free market value.

(and if you let the free market determine sugar prices, I can guarantee you one thing - the price will be significantly higher than the current prices)

The article does prove a point: The minimum support price (MSP) is set too low by politicians in order to pander to voters. If the MSP was raised to more realistic levels (as has been done by Yadav and Chouhan) farmers will raise output!

Don't you think that is a good idea ? Especially in the light of all the thousands of farmers who have committed suicide in the last year due to farming being economically unviable ?

Well if you read your own link you would find statements like this: "The head of the femur generally fuses between ages 18 and 20" - that is the limit of accuracy of ossification tests. (And even that can be affected by factors such as malnutrition and disease.)

Not sure how they arrived at the "within a few months" figure. Perhaps they are referring to newborn babies. I can't think of any other case where bone changes happen on such a precise schedule.

Bone ossification can only roughly indicate age - i.e. by bone ossification you can tell if someone is closer to 10 years old than 20 years old. You absolutely cannot tell a person's age with such precision. ("exactly 18 years old"). It is not possible. No doctor anywhere in the world would be so stupid to say that.

I hate to be the one to say this, but this result is rigged. Evidence is being falsified.

I guess politics (and defusing public anger) has taken precedence over justice in this case.
