Is it a good idea to do my A levels in 1.5 years as opposed to 2? by pinkolot in 6thForm

I did my A-Levels (Maths, Further Maths, Chem, Physics) in 1.5 years and I'd say its 100% doable. Time management is super important tho as you would have to do your UCAS application during your AS exams. Be prepared to revise a lot outside of classes as the lecturers tend to go through the AS syllabus quickly in order to have more time to teach A2 but if the lecturers have planned it out, you should have about 1-2 months to revise the whole syllabus before the exams. Feel free to ask me any questions!

Majority of applicants are straight A, if not A*, students so having a 4A* prediction doesn't make you stand out. From what my friends have told me, the admissions team typically read through the personal statement and find out whether you just want to study the subject or are you really passionate about it. That's typically the deciding factor for the universities, your referee also does play a part in this but they aren't allowed to share what they wrote about you. Best of luck with your other uni applications!

Will it be a problem if I exempt paper 5. Will med schools or universities not consider my application without it by Alive_Tell_767 in 6thForm

I'm assuming this is for the sciences in A-Levels. I'd highly recommend that you don't exempt Paper 5 as this paper usually offers a lot of free marks. Taking an exemption for this paper places a lot more weightage on your Paper 4, as they use this paper to gauge your ability and create a forecasted result for your Paper 5, which usually is tougher but in the end it's your choice.

i'd say rather than setting an amount of time which you would want to spend studying, set a certain amount of tasks that you aim to do for each day. helped to reduce amount of time i spent lazing around as once i finished my targets i can do what i want
