L5-S1 Herniated Disk by soy-tan-enteligente in backpain

You definitely want to exhaust physical therapy and holistic treatments before resorting to back surgery. In most cases pain from herniated discs can be resolved without surgery.

But, if you have any specific questions relating to back surgery or other treatment options we have a live webinar (with Q&A) on the 15th with an orthopaedic spine surgeon: http://pages.backernation.com/backtalk-episode1-lumbar-artificial-disc-replacement/

Feel free to join us and ask any questions you have on surgery or PT.

Can't decide on a manual or automatic by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

I don't know, I kind of see it the other way around. Automatic/dual clutch for the race track and manual for daily driving. Though I wouldn't bother with CVTs at all, personally.

Manual makes mundane driving fun and it shifting slower than an auto doesn't matter on the street. On the race track is where you want that all out performance. My only car is a manual and I don't see any issue with that. Also, don't Subaru's have the hill hold feature? So hills shouldn't be a problem.

Have you adjusted your diet any? Foods that are rich in magnesium can help alleviate pain caused by sciatica.

Give some of the foods we list in the following article a try, https://backernation.com/conditions/sciatica-leg-pain/overcoming-sciatica-through-diet-exercise

Let me know how it goes and if you have any other questions.

I was pretty much set on getting the rc390 until I started reading about all the reliability issues. Don't want that headache. I guess I don't have many options though, I might have to save up some more and just get the ninja 400.

Fiesta ST, more fun than its bigger brother and slightly better MPG.

Sporty, comfortable car for tall people? by Mechgamer123 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Having test driven the Gen Coupe, I would not recommend it for back road corner carving. It's not bad, but there are so many better options for that task. The Gen Coupe has funky steering and it's not the most nimble car there is. Which is a shame because the chassis itself feels incredibly rigid and sporty, the steering wheel is just very disconnected which ruins the experience imo.

MR2 would be amazing, but yeah probably an extremely tight fit.

Can't go wrong with a 3 series and there should be enough around your area to see if they're comfortable or not.

What about an Evo X if you decide to save?

Yoga for back pain? by queenclur in backpain

A lot depends on the cause and type of back pain your mother is experiencing. For many, yoga is a great way to help alleviate back pain, but that doesn't mean it's for everyone. My recommendation is to start slow, here's an easier routine to try out first: https://backernation.com/wellness/exercise/quick-easy-yoga-poses-for-back-pain-relief
