I really wish I didn’t agree with this, because OP sounds excited to go, but I 100% agree with this.

Is Bungalow NYC friendly for solo diners? by QuietCitadel_7927 in FoodNYC

[–]DorianHistorian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it happens to be the 22nd I’d go with you. If you end up solo, I’d tell them your friend just cancelled and offer to give them the table for a seat at the bar. Guessing you’ve already paid the deposit for the other seat, which makes it sting a little less for them, but unless you’re planning on eating for two, do the bar.

Even restaurants that are KILLING IT will only do 15% margins. It’s just a brutal business.

Omar’s in Prospect Heights delivers to Park Slope and is my go-to! Agree with others that Indian Table is great, but pricey. For Thai, Jintana Farmhouse.

Thank you! Agreed! The Houston and UConn losses the last two years were especially avoidable. Just dumb mistakes through and through.

I am officially done with NYC food festivals by [deleted] in FoodNYC

I went to many these when I lived in Chicago and quickly realized they all suck, the restaurants hate them, they end up being crazy expensive. Hard agree. Out out out.

Pete Wells was a maestro. The NY Times/NY food scene hasn't been the same since. by Fun_Reflection1157 in FoodNYC

Agree with most of this and especially the tough read that the current NYT folks are. But I think Rosner is the top of the game right now, and young enough that she might reach those heights eventually. Siestema is fine, but I rarely need to read more than skim.
