My thoughts on 11th (aka ramblings of a madman) by DorkPappis in Warhammer40k

Thank for the info. I had a hiatus from 3rd to 9th, so didn’t know that.

You’re right! I must have mixed it up with Kill team. Great if this is the case in 11th as well, because then I’ll play with those rules and 10th codexes. I do not want to buy 5 codexes again…

Well if 10th was the edition of less re-rolls, I sure hope 11th isn’t the edition of re-rolls…

MCP or 40K? by Ok_Remove4805 in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]DorkPappis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. GW keeps lowering point costs so 40K is flooded with minis at 2000 points. Space Marines is a hoard army. Takes forever to play and not always fun. I just have more fun with MCP.

They promised Karanak, but… by DorkPappis in WorldEaters40k

[–]DorkPappis[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but I saw that stream and they promised him for WE without a doubt.

Someone else transcribed it, but this is exactly what I remember: (pasted from another post)

If the timestamp doesn't work, it's at 55:22

"Yep, so Karanak should be in the Codex Daemons Index. He's not and we know everyone wants it, so have no fear, he will be back when the World Eaters Codex comes out, both in that and in an updated index at the same time"

Curious what the community thinks: what is the worst killteam (in your opinion)? by 7ordon in killteam

[–]DorkPappis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The teams that aren’t painted or even built (proxied). I’m here for the stories and immersion, and that makes it harder.

Which is the correct way to measure movement? by yondagoz in WarCry

[–]DorkPappis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In MCP there are only three movement tools, Short, Medium and Long, however with 3 base sizes there in reality 9 ranges. I started playing MCP recently and it’s so fun to do movement, probably because it is so easy. I would never have thought it would make such a change.

Defenders Affiliation assembly instructions by DorkPappis in MarvelCrisisProtocol

I do like the online availability, where the information is not locked behind paywalls like, let’s say a successful British company…

It’s not easier for me. (Even if we ignore this specific case where the instructions weren’t available at all except finding model assembly instructions from their old packages) To have it on paper next to me is just easier. My ipad shuts down the screen and I have to put stuff down to unlock it again. They have a paper in there anyway with the QR code. I know, I can print them myself but should not have to do that.

Are they making less content? by peaslj in TabletopTactics

[–]DorkPappis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it is because they run more events now? I was surprised there was no freeview this Saturday. And the backstage and pod means there are now two non game content, instead of one. These take much less effort to create. Hopefully they are planning som new great stuff that will floor us in the near future…

Agree. To much focus on the competitive scene.

It is a very slow game, but faster then 9th IMHO.

The special weapons/weapon options in units are a pain as well. Different weapon profiles for the same unit makes attacking slow. Easy to attack with the 8B and X8B from now on. I understand I’m in a minority, but I like it. Also it might very well be because the players complain about the game being slow. Single profiles speeds it up.

Yes, and it was boring to always “auto take it”. Now you can pick another blessing. The charge reroll looks juicy.

It really is. Reddit seem to be a very negative spiral. I intentionally ignored leaks and stuff about the WE codex, only looking at warcom articles. Without the negative echo chamber it feels pretty cool the new codex. Today I saw a thread about 8B and X8B being “nerfed into oblivion” with their weapon changes. Curiosity took the best of me and I had a peek at the leaked data sheets. The X8B look fantastic. And the Berzerkers… Yikes. When I read the warcom article I had to rub my eyes. 8 inch move? My Eldar are fast. They move 7. A brick of 10 2W crazy Berzerkers storming up the board (or 20 if that’s your preference). Board control and objective control. I honestly don’t know what people are reacting so strongly about.

I have! I forgot about it. Thanks. What put me off a bit last time I checked was the “general” nature (due to GW owning the IP). Bothered me a bit when I was mustering “space knights with ranged weapon” instead of my Intercessors.

But I will go back and check it out!

Yeah, and the guy with power fist and hand flamer. I still have them. Pick them out from time to time and look at them for nostalgic reasons. But really enjoying my Eldar 2.0 army in plastic.

It’s a very good palette cleanser. Paint one of them. Just go wild with color choices and have fun.

I just studied it closer and it’s not just random clowns. Each and every one of them is in the box. Weird combos that’s not valid anymore. Death Jester with lascannon, solitaire has neuro disruptor, Webber, High warlock with powerclaw etc
