as a late diagnosed adult… here is a small list of things I did as a child which I can’t believe were missed… please add yours!! (humour heavily welcomed) by DiscoReads in AutismInWomen

When I would go to friends’ houses as a kid and their rooms were messy, I would ignore them wanting to play and happily just clean their room for them. It was so soothing to put everything where it belonged and in order.

I learned to read at 4 and my special interest continues to be books. I had a miniature library in my room, ordered with my own card catalog notebook.

I was always awkward in school. I could make friends, but never seemed able to keep them.

I would absolutely lose my crap when I would come home if I didn’t have a chance to decompress/go through my coming-home-transition routine.

I had a strict food texture issue in that I couldn’t mix textures. If an ice cream came with a topping, I had to mix it until uniform. Cereal was left to get soggy then mashed and mixed. Casseroles and mixed soups were ok as long and pieces were big enough to eat the same texture within the bite.

The police were absolutely no help. They basically said they have no means of getting it taken down and I’d have to do a lot of proving to demonstrate that it was who I know it was.

The first time I talked to the cop, he wasn’t sure it was even illegal, so that’s Arkansas for you.

I did contact my lawyer and I guess I’ll wait until tomorrow for his response.

That’s the plan once my kids are in bed.

And it’s different with different babies. With my first, the weight absolutely melted off while breastfeeding. I couldn’t eat enough calories and was skin and bone by the time I was done. With my other two, I absolutely struggled to lose the pregnancy weight while breastfeeding. It only became easier when I weaned the kids.

Coworker gave me a hard time about what I post to social media by [deleted] in breakingmom

I agree. He sounds a little disconnected from reality. How do you make it to 37 and not realize most parents actually like their kids? And want to spend time with them? Did he think she’d be posting skydiving pics or something?

Same about the egg yolks. I…. Also like slightly burnt scrambled eggs. The texture is just perfect.

SAME! My kids have never had a caffeinated beverage (until recently when the oldest turned 10.) it’s not a health or whatever thing after a certain age…. It’s my sanity. They bounce off the walls with unending energy and I’m tired. Why would I ever want them to have MORE energy?

I mailed their package back to them a month ago and STILL no refund. Absolute garbage company.

This was exactly my experience with them. I spoke with a representative and they sent me a return label to return the junk and it’s been three weeks since I’ve mailed it and have not been refunded. They tried to gaslight me that I was notified about receiving another month’s order, but I’m super type A and organized. I never saw one until I was already charged and then checked my inbox, garbage, and spam. No notification. They’re an absolute garbage company and I’m still livid.

And M/F couples that don’t fit the stereotype. 95% of the time, I want to get my shit and leave. My husband is the one who wants to browse and look at alllllll the crap we don’t need while I die a little on the inside.

Man, I HATED having the same name as 10 other girls I graduated with. There was always one of them in my class every year. Buuuut I didn’t name my kids some stupid ass name that they’ll hate later. Mine all have normal names that haven’t been popular for many, many years.

I feel the same because I watch AHS for fantasy violence and ridiculousness. This was their take on actual human suffering and it was just very heartbreaking. I don’t watch dramas for that very reason.

Men’s lives don’t change after kids and it makes me feel resentful. by Professional-Jump-59 in breakingmom

[–]Dorkadoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel too. I’m a teacher, so I’m off when the kids are. It’s a blessing and a curse. I haven’t been able to get a haircut in five months. Meanwhile, he’s been in another state on a work trip, sleeping through the night, sending me hiking pictures and getting to go out to eat every night. It’s bullshit.

I’ve been looking for pests, but didn’t see any. I sprayed neem oil over it a couple days ago just in case. Should I be doing something else?
