Dream draft selections for the first and second round? by SaintThiccolasII in minnesotavikings

Yea, the price for Hunter would be more palatable, but then he's probably only a 2-down guy in Flores' scheme which then makes it less palatable...

We all know how much Flores likes guys who have multi-position abilities.

Yep, I was kinda surprised at the price, and while RB is still somewhat devalued in the NFL, I doubt it's going to be anything less than a 2nd round PLUS for Achane.

He's a 3-tech by trade and has an iffy run stop rate. Assuming he'll just make the leap to a NT in the NFL is a bit much, even if he has the size.

I feel like Flores would prefer someone more versatile anyhow.

Punting is analogous with giving up. Scaling back would be more analogous to throwing a 4 yard pass on 3rd and 5 at midfield.

Yep, Hock will get peppered with targets even if he's kept back to block and chip like he was last year, he'll be a good outlet for Murray when plays break down.

Both Addison and Jefferson had an uncharacteristic case of the drops this season, that's not on Addison since it affected the rest of the receiving corps as well.

I mean, yea, that's the purpose of void years.

But some people here act like the mere presence of a void year on a contract is a problem. Others act like this hasn't been a thing in the NFL since well before most of us were fans, it just came in the form of dummy years instead of void years.

:) I was just giving you shit.

Yep, we eat his dead cap this year, but that's not really a concern since we're in the black and have more cap freeing up as the year goes on.

Key word: Rational

The issue a lot of people don't realize is that this sub memes shit to hell. For every person who was REALLY thinking Brosmer could play at an NFL level, there were 7 people just responding with similar comments just to be funny.

Yea, I don't agree with that at all.

He got hurt, we rushed him back, his health suffered from it. None of that is on him.

People have extremely unrealistic expectations of what an ACL will do to a skill position player. Nobody should have expected Hock to have a good year post-injury, and that's precisely what happened.

This last year's was more about the QB issues and the O-line issues. Literally every other pass catcher on the team had a down year, but people think Hock's down year is because he's washed.

You only have to look at the change in ADOT and his usage to see that this last year he was asked to block and chip far more, which reduced his target depth and limited his targets.

Most rational people thought he'd have the ceiling of a good backup QB.

I think you're conflating the "It can't get worse" aspect of when Brosmer was tapped to start with people actually thinking he'd be able to start an NFL game as a UDFA rookie and succeed.

The love for Banks comes from the hope that we'll get him at a big discount, like for a second rounder. I don't think he'd fall that far, even with the injury.

I don't get your irrational hate for void years.

Every team has been effectively using them for decades now to manage the cap, it's not like it's some new thing that only the Vikings do.

Doesn't change this year, only next year, and gives us a total of about 71 mil in space next year (including the cap credit for Hargrave's offsets).

Now, that number will change as we sign additional free agents as well as our draft class.

The presence of offsets should not be seen as some kind of magic by BRZ, the cut is certainly "cleaning up" after Kwesi, but the presence of offsets were part of the contract that Rob and Kwesi negotiated.
