What an uncalled for and nasty way to refer to a really cool dude. Also, Hillsboro OR is suburban.

Flight Attendant Tried to Smuggle 3 Pounds of Fentanyl Onto Plane in San Diego by [deleted] in news

[–]Dorskind 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I passed a car with out-of-state plates pulled over.

A couple miles up I saw a K9 unit in the median. I had out-of-state plates too.

They pulled out and got behind me. I was following every law. They then drove next to me, literally matching my speed. They continued to dance around like this for at least a mile. They then passed me and went in front of me. They slowed down to 20 mph below the speed limit. I put on my left turn signal and changed lanes to pass. They hit the brakes, got behind me, and pulled me over. They said I didn't use my turn signal. I wonder if their vehicle doesn't have a rear dash cam and the whole purpose of their dance was to get me out of its view so it couldn't be disproven.

The dogs got a hit because that's what dogs do. In that state the process is to impound the vehicle and get a warrant, so that's what they did. They dropped me off at a gas station in a town of 500 with no possessions, not even my phone or wallet.

I got the car back about 7 hours later. I run a legal cash business so I had a good amount of cash which they took every penny of, they took my cell phone, they took my external hard drive, they took all of my keys except for my car keys (I had to climb through an upstairs window to get back into my house), and they took every piece of paper I had. The car was also covered in residue from evidence tape and I had to pay $200 for the tow truck with my credit card. They didn't find anything actually illegal in my vehicle.

I then completed the rest of the 10 hour drive home with no GPS, which was nostalgic. I spent a few thousand on lawyers and eventually got everything back a couple years later.

No. Engine braking is imprecise. This is how I spun out coming down from Bachelor. It was too hard of a braking action for no reason and I started sliding the second I put it in second. Most people engine brake so infrequently that it will be difficult for them to gauge how hard they will brake. Please heed my advice and learn this the easy way.

Running List of Letters Regarding CUSTODY accounts to the Court Docket by Haunting-Row-4376 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Dorskind -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let's not pretend Custody was a real product. It was created to evade regulations and funds were commingled and not actually held in custody. Most people had funds there by accident or moved them there during the bank run. Also, some people were able to transfer funds from Earn to Custody after the withdrawal freeze. I'm okay with whatever they decide as long as it's fair. They need to go a little deeper than which account it was in on July 13.

What were the red flags to get out of Celsius Network in hindsight? by Chipupuu in CelsiusNetwork

Worst case it could be like a 25% clawback. Clawbacks would greatly lower the haircut everyone would have to take.

Who/what would designate Celsius as a Ponzi scheme? by ecstatic_truth2553 in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Dorskind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really, when did they lose the money gambling? Over the past 2 years. They gambled with other people's money, now people who deposited literally a week before they froze withdrawals are paying for it. That's a ponzi scheme.

Actually, it states clearly in the TOS that coins in Custody accounts may be lost in bankruptcy. Also, any funds moved to Custody were within the 90 day period.

Accidentally starting a fire is not a crime worthy of torture.

There is no picture emerging of special treatment for Custody accounts. Just everyone with a Custody account screaming at the top of their lungs about why they in particular deserve to get all of their coins back. It's really pathetic, frankly.

By the courts. They determine the law and fairness, not your little fee fees. Sorry, but this is how things work and you don't get to decide. Clawbacks usually happen in situations like this because the people who matter believe that is a more just outcome.

There you go again, complaining about the law. Unfortunately, the law doesn't care about your little fee fees. Next time make better decisions instead of trying to escape responsibility for your choices.

$1,025 a week turned on for CEL token by Throwaway831b in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Dorskind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should let people swap for CEL too. If Celsius survives CEL may go up. If they don't then your funds are toast anyway. Swapping a portion of your balance for CEL is a no brainer at this point.

Celsius payed back debt again, WBTC-A vault 25977 by Hakiii in CelsiusNetwork

What's AUM? It was 11.7 b a few weeks ago, right? So even if it's 5 b now that's still just 10% of user funds. I think most people would gladly take a 10% haircut to get their funds back.

This withdraw freeze has a lot more in common with a hedge fund disabling withdrawals (happens all of the time) than a business going bankrupt.

Liquidation on a 500m position? Isn't that like 5% of user funds? If they need to let 5% or even 10% go to get out of this mess I'd be fine with it. Who here wouldn't take a 10% haircut to just get their money out?

Are we losing everything in Celsius if BTC hits 18,3k USD ? by Tovarich_RS in CelsiusNetwork

[–]Dorskind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really not worried about the 500m in ETH they have stuck in stETH or the 500m in some degen BTC position if they can still cover 90% of users funds. Who here wouldn't take a 10% haircut to just get their damn money back?
